For a while now I've been thinking of army list building as "strategy" and actually using an army on the table-top as "tactics", and I couldn't help but notice that the Tactics forum is usually filled with threads about army building rather than army playing. My suggestion is that the Army List forum be renamed the Strategy forum.

Well its a place for people to give advice on people's army lists.

Army list=Army list building. Tactics=Discussion of the viability of units or how to beat a certain build with your army list.

No, all you've described as tactics is just list-building. After all, building an army list involves mixing and matching units according to their viability in some context (such as against other lists).

Tactics is what you do with that material on the board, so discussions of whether one unit is better than another really belongs in the Army List forum, which would be better known as the Strategy forum for the reason that many people share your narrow conception of list-building, and your erroneous conception of tactics.

Ideally we would have it they way you wish, but the difference between strategy and tactics is a difference lost on many. If we still get lists in the tactics forum, despite there being an army list forum right there, what hope do we have of people distinguishing between strategy and tactics? It's a nice naming theme, but not practical.

I would be okay with "Pre-game Strategy" and "In-game Tactics" as board names, as they are clear, while keeping your nice naming theme.

And yes, I did do a 180 turn on my stance. Please pretend you didn't notice for the sake of my pride.
