My brother and I like to play online games after our respective wives hit the bed, the problem is competitive online games like League of Legends, and counterstrike are not what I would call soothing. What we need is a multi player co-op game like "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" or "X-men legends" Something RPGish with some mindless beating thrown in for good measure.

Does anyone have any sugggestions? We bought Freedom Force but found out the multiplayer blows since its does not have a campaign mode.

Hmm I would recommend Dawn Of War 2, RPGish and LOTS of beating thrown in the MP. So go for that

You can't play DoW2 in co-op. The multi player plays like a RTS.

Same for C&C Red Alert 3, co-op in both campaign and skirmish.

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. When human beings are governed by "thou shalt not", the individual can practise a certain amount of eccentricity: when they are supposedly governed by "love" or "reason", he is under continuous pressure to make him behave and think in exactly the same way as everyone else.

You may want to look into an mmo. Dungeons and Dragons online just went free. Its good for a little random strategic beat em up fun.

The greater good needs some moo.

Campaign co-op
3v3 co-op
The Last Stand co-op

Campaign and Last Stand have some fantastic RPG elements, and while it's still an RTS-style game, both of them have a lot of beating on Orks, Eldar and Nids.
