Hey all,

My local gaming group is talking about playing a spaceship game (Most are talking BFG, a few are talking Firestorm Armada). I'm firmly on the idea of starting a Firestorm Armada fleet, but I have some BFG stuff from back in the day that I put together but never played. Since we might end up playing BFG, I'm going to pull those models out of storage. Here is what I have:

2x Battle Barge
6x Strike Crusiers
6x of each escort

Can any reasonably effective fleet be made out of those ships? If not, I have a Chaos fleet that I loaned to one of my friends that I may have to reclaim. That fleet has 1 of each battleship, ~10 Crusiers (magnetized so they can be any ship), and a bunch of escorts.

Any help is appreciated!

It's generally thought that the chaos fleet is stronger than the space marine fleet.

I love the models of the space marine fleet though, particularly the battlebarge. What you have there is pretty much your only option as far as space marine vessels go, so something good should be able to come from that!

I play a space marine fleet and love it. You need to get close, so all ahead full is your bestest friend. There is something so utterly awesome about a point blank planetary bombardment cannon barrage. Boarding actions are also a strong point. Basically get close and few ships can withstand a space marine assault, except filthy eldar, because they just fly away...filthy eldar

-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake.
