Subject: Cygnar, what to buy next?

Well, after winning a local tournament saturday, I took the cash prize and, seeing that a good few amount of local players are getting into warmachines, I splurged and bought two heavy warjack kits, and commander adept nemo. I want to have an adaptable, versatile army, that makes use of infantry as well as warjacks. I don't know what I should get next but I read some of the handy articles and they gave me a feel. I'm looking to get a 50 point army for some decent sized skirmishes.
I was thinking I would get something like this:
Commander Adept Nemo-
Journeymen Warcaster-
Cyclone-
Defender-
6 Trenchers-
Trencher Chain Gun
6 Long Gunners-
Lancer-
Hunter-
I have no idea how many points that would be but, again, I am shooting for a versatile and adaptable force. Plus with any luck, it will be fun. The mechanics seem to have more going for them than 40k, though the unit specialization seems... lacking.
So, does the roster match what i'm looking for? Thanks in advance.

Right well lets start of baisc then.
Start at 15 points.
Get a few game under your belt and you may find that Nemo isnt your style of caster.
i would recomend to get you started.
Nemo - 6
Ironclad 7
Lancer 5
Arlan strangeways 2
hunter 6
This gives you a shooty jack, 1 heavy hitter and 1 to channel your spells through.
Like i say try 15 points first to get you started.
Also the Cygnar book is out and get that is give you all stats and unit types.

1. You definitely want an "arc node" warjack to channel spells through so a Lancer is a must imho.
2. Gun mages w/ the Unit attachment for them are rock solid
3. Squire ( The R2-D2 of WM: he can give you more focus and extend your control range, etc.)

Seconded on the Squire. I would put the Black 13th ahead of about anything else though. Use them once, and they will pretty much be a staple unit for you.

everyone has different preferences and in mk2 there are very few outright bad models. its more about getting models you like that work well together these days.
that said support models like squire, journeyman, and strangewayes tend to be worth it more often than not.
i dont see anything that stands out as incompatible and everything you listed is solid but tends to be ranged heavy. if you are aiming for a balanced force you will want some more melee options.
i hesitate to make recommendations since the mileage varies on how much people seem to get out of some models. your own playstyle and the local opponent's choices will have more impact on what works well than anything else. as an example i love the gun mage models that CT Gamer endorsed but i rarely get them to kill anything, its all personal taste. i still do play them since they are painted really nicely though

Hmm... people tend to be suggesting gun mages, but what do they bring to the table as far as anti-jack or anti-infantry.
Also, the centurion does look like a fun jack.
I figure I could also throw in a unit of storm guard and storm lances giving me.
1 Arc node, light melee jack.
1 Badass caster
The squire, maybe.
Some cool jacks
Plenty of ranged and melee anti infantry, though would all this have problems with an all/mostly jack list?

It depends on the jacks you add to the mix. The Cygnar jack are not able to trash other factions heavies on their own so would need to get some help from friends. The list of figs you have is defensive oriented as centurion is slow jack, storm guard are more of a defensive unit (storm blades are the offensive counterpart). I would say you need to have a good heavy hitter added there, ironclad is the cheap choice and stormclad the pricier option. Also check if you have point left for a storm smith to run distrupting enemy jacks.
As to the other part what gun mages bring is a mobile anti infantry force and when you add a gun mage officer and marshalled jack to the mix it gets interesting. They are as most of the units in WM good, but you need to think of the whole what you are bringing to the table and weather you are playing pure caster kill or objective based games. What is the end condition you are aiming for.
