Hey everyone, just a quick announcement about the new policy concerning custom Foam Corps tray orders from Outrider Hobbies.

From now on, all custom trays are the same price as trays that are already designed. That's right, no set up fees, no custom pricing, just pick the thickness of tray that you want, place your order, and we'll get with you to decide how you want the tray laid out.

In other words, need a custom 2" tray, $12.00. Want a custom 4" tray, $14.00. Just like all the other trays we offer, but now you get to pick the layout for the same price.

So, come see us at www.outriderhobbies.com/store. All trays are listed in the Foam Corps Section.

Wow. So if I want a tray to hold a valkyrie and two tanks, will you have that pre-cut and ready to roll out?

I don't have a design for that one yet, but I can make it. That's the best part about getting custom work done. You can get it how you want it.

I find your online store to be very confusing.
If I was interested I didn't spend much time there.

Out of curiosity how so?

I am working on a site redesign, I am just a bit limited as I have to do it myself. What would make it a better experience?

1. Have columns on the left. Instead of both on the right.

2. When i click categories i dont see much of anything except 3 products.

Then I notice there ARE the categories on top - make sure to make an image with those categories. I'm sure you can do so with zen cart.

Just a little usability issues here and there, i could critique more when i have more time. Just some friendly tips.

Runnin up on ya.

It took a bit for me to realize that I had to click the plus button to see more of the products and then I realized that I was looking just at what was new. There are so many little boxes on the page. I finally noticed the tiered "categories" box.

I think it would be better if you just cleaned it up a bit. Something standard like the warstore isn't too hard to set up and is easier on the eyes.

Growing pains are a part of business but it looks like you have a quality product and I'm sure you'll fit nicely in the the "cheaper than battlefoam" niche.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Actually, I really love this.
It fits my ArmyTransport cases and it can be customized.

Next time I run out of ArmyTransport trays, I'll order from here.

I think you should explain to the customer how the custom tray order works. It seems entirely unclear how the consulting works. Do I e-mail you a vector-drawing? That seems like it leaves a lot of room of customer error. Do I simply say "I want a custom try to hold 10 Gargoyles and a Venomthrope"? That seems complicated. What if I have an odd converted model with spiky bits and tentacles sticking out from all over the place?

I would love to try it out, but honestly, my order really would likely be 10 Gargoyles and a odd converted model (Parasite of Mortrex).

Absolutionis,

We can work with a lot of stuff. If you have a vector drawing to email, that works. If you want to trace the model and fax it, that works too.

Basically, I have been building a database of common shapes over the last year and when someone asks for a custom tray, I usually just need to pull out the cutouts that I already have and put them into a tray. Some of the really weird things take some extra work, but it is short enough that it is worth the time still.

So in short, if you purchase a tray, tell me you want 10 gargoyles and an odd converted model, I'll take a tray, add 10 standard gargoyle cut outs, and ask for some sort of drawing that is the shape of your odd converted model. If there is left over room I will ask what else you would like to fit on the tray so we don't waste any space if we don't have to. Usually this is used for the "next" unit you are going to get.

But basically this is what I do for custom trays.

That clear some stuff up?

Wow, that's so funny Wade. Not only did you steal the foam idea from us but you tried to steal our new pricing.

Note to everyone that Battle Foam Sabol custom trays have been reduced for over a week now. Along with that we offer the only guarantee in the industry.

Feel free to check out the BF site and find a huge selection of Custom foam to include Sabol trays custom cut at only $12.00 per tray regardless of size.

Also remember that we are the only company with a custom tray creator that will allow you to build your trays before ordering.

I am really and honestly shocked. I cannot... believe you just hijacked another thread to advertise your own product...

I compared sites, and it seems Outrider's trays only match with a single one of your products... Otherwise, their trays are more expensive at higher thicknesses yet they offer double-size trays which you do not...

Honestly, I didn't know that Battlefoam carried Sabol Designs sized foam because "SD" seems nonspecific and your listed foam sizes for SD trays differ from Sabol Designs and Outrider trays by a quarter-inch. That ends up being 0.75 inches too wide on some bags. I admit that I got the Space Hulk set from Battlefoam because I liked the idea.

Either way, that is a bold accusation. I guess I'm new to these threads and I've never really understood how you, Romeo, are so popular on Dakka and 40kRadio whereas many other boards seem to overall prefer other brands (Sabol, KR, GW, gun cases). I still think the accusation of stealing (one product in common) and hijacking a thread is quite a turn-off from Battlefoam overall; it seems unprofessional.

Perhaps it's the giddy-excitement over Chapterhouse's revelation today that has me writing so much, but I wouldn't have written this if I weren't so shocked. Are you really the same Romeo that I listened to on 40k radio last week? You seemed like such a nice person...

@Absolutionis - fact is that this guy has stolen every idea he has from us. I have 8 employees that will testify to that along with 50 gamers in our local area that know what kind of show this clown runs. Hijacked yes, but only because this guys every move happens 2 days after we post something. We create something, this guy copies it.

Its only bold if its not true, and he knows his day in court is just around the corner. All this will play itself out in the months to come. I just want people to know that Battle Foam has your back and to be careful of people like Wade. (Outrider Hobbies)

Do I have a problem with this guy, yes. Did he do something both legally and morally wrong, YES! If sneaking around and coping someones ideas and then posting as if they are your own, then Yes, Yes, and Yes.

Again, I just wanted to point out some facts.

I appologize to you if you took offense to my post but a warning needed to be posted. Its a sad day when people work their tails off to create something new and improved and a parasite like this comes along.

Hey Wade, go check out our site. I'm sure you could steel some other good ideas from us. Clown

Ok, I'm done with this guy.

Does battle foam own the sole patent for custom cut foam trays?

Ok, this has gotten way beyond a joke at this point.

Romeo, whatever your problems are with outrider, Dakka isn't the place for this sort of nonsense. If he's legitimately done something wrong, take it up with the relevant authorities.

For everyone else, there's already been one suspension due to people being unable to discuss carry cases for their toy soldiers in a civil fashion. There will be more if this nonsense continues.

Hi LunaHound, don't expect to get a reply from Wade on that questions. He knows anything he puts on here we'll have in court in just a few short weeks. To be fair to any business looking to start foam cutting. Guys we welcome compatition. It makes us better and it get the customer a great price in the end. What we don't stand for is parasites like Wade using our exact trays, designs, concepts, trademarks, copyrights and any thing else you can think of to build his shady business.

The worst part is when things don't go right and he pisses off a customer he tells them its our stuff and he's a reseller. True story. Had a customer call us and tell us he had bad foam he got from a local store. He said it was called Foam Corps and was being sold at the local store. When he came back to ask why the foam fell apart he was told that it was Battle Foam rejected trays that can't sell on our site so we sell them under Foam Corps and Wade is a reseller not a manufacturer.

Yes folks. I have a problem when a clown like this tells people that his broken items are actually ours just to save face and pass the blame and buck onto us. That is called slander and dafamation. All things that will get handled in a court of law.

Dammit.

Off-topic! I'm too tired to do any disciplinary stuff right now. I am locking the thread and hope that some of the mods who are still up will take care of all this off-topic nonsense.
