Just an idle thought, but if I kept a list basically the same, but just switched from one Warcaster to another, how differently would the list play? I ask because it sems like Warmachine is heavily dependent on synergies and combos, so if the baseline of the combo is altered, does it alter the army significantly even if no other changes are made?

Example: Going from Amon to eKreoss in Menoth or going from eSorcha to eButcher in Khador?

Everyone I have played with has been playing for a few years. I'm relatively new to the game, but what I can tell you is that your play style and even list choice will vary a good amount based on your caster.

As an example, I played a game yesterday against Legion (Hordes) and was using Stryker. Regular Stryker has Earthquake. I pretty much inched my way to my opponents Warlock, arcnode casted Earthquake, knocked over his Warlock, and charged with a full focus buffed Ironclad which was pretty much an auto-win, even with his Warlock having 3 fury on her.

Had I been playing with eStryker, I would have probably been Overloading and going bananas with him. At the same time, I probably would have been more aggressive with my jacks than I already was being, along with not being so upset about my GMCA being eaten by some random Hordes beast that flew over a building and into the forest. *sigh*

Nonetheless, from what I gathered, every caster plays different and will support a different army and playstyle. There's nothing saying you can't take Sorcha with a Karchev mega jack list, but you may fair better with a modified list to compliment Sorcha and her playstyle/stat line/spells/etc etc.

Hope that sort of helps.

that changes a lot in how the army is played, although it does not have to change the army. it depends on how self supportive the units are basically...

that and pbutcher might run jacks better then sorcha...

It should play differently. The degree of difference will vary.
