Sorry for the length. For just the run-down read the plain script only.

The position of the stars showed dawn to be hours away as a line of Eldar skimmers cruised gently through a ruined city on a nameless dead Hive World half-way across the galaxy from Terra. Aboard two of the Wave Serpents rode the twin sister Farseers Isis and Iril. When they had belonged to a Council they had been known only as “The Sisters” and their intimate psychic connection was a unique marvel to the other Farseers. Twins are rare among psychers and rare among the Eldar so the combination of the two was a singular occurrence.
The mental link between The Sisters was solid now as they communicated from the passenger compartments of their respective Wave Serpents.
“The Harlequins may still be alive sister. Why are we risking discovery by scouting in force?” communed one sister.
“They are gone sister, that is clear. Those jesters would not be delayed otherwise.” replied the other. Their minds were so entwined that distinguishing between them would have been as difficult as it was meaningless. They were one conscious stream of thought and two minds in perfect unity. This state was dangerous as it was useful for neither Farseer could sense much beyond each other. The Dire Avengers around each sister were charged with the safe-keeping of the Farseers during such vulnerable times.
Another Eldar mind politely probed for an audience with the two sisters. The effect was like a knock on a closed door.
“The two Harlequin jetbike beacons have appeared on the scanning matrix, Farseers.” The pilot of Isis’ Wave Serpent declared. “The sun is rising as well. Our night cloaks will fail by the time we arrive.”
Both sisters broke their link simultaneously and so both felt the outside disturbance in the same instant. Something was watching them despite their cloaks.
“Chaos is upon us sister. We should not have held our link so long.” Isis said across the regular comm. links. “Call the Scorpions back to assist. All tanks crews brace for impact.”
The first explosions rang out…

The game was 1500pts Capture and Control with pitched battle deployment. The Eldar got first turn but Chaos ceased the initiative. My opponent didn’t have a list written up so I’d appreciate if someone let me know if he was within 1500 pts. Scary list.

The morning air shimmered and warped as the forces of chaos threw off their psychic camouflage and opened fire on the Eldar tanks before them.

One squad of traitors took up position on near a downed jetbike and began trying to extract information from the Harlequin trapped beneath the rubble. The rhino roars forward beside the cliffs on the right and CSM2 and the defiler move up behind it. On the other side the obliterators and vindicator move up a little.

Three lascannon beams shoot towards P2 and its prism cannon is blown off. The Spirit stones just manage to keep the tank mobile as well. A vindicator shell falls close enough to DA2’s Serpent for shrapnel to render its EML useless.

The sorcerer leered at the Eldar as several of their tanks are damaged by the initial barrage. The fools! He’d been planning this trap for a long time and the two Farseers had more suprises coming their way. He strode forward alone, confident in his Gods and in the distraction his troops provided. The Harlequins would be his!

“All troops prepare for battle!” Either Isis or Iril called over the comms. “Maintain your composure, the main objective is still the Harlequins”
Eldar skimmers broke formation smoothly and began to fire on the oncoming marines. The battle was met.
[/color]

The Dragon’s Serpent shoots up the table edge and gains an invulnerable save. P3 moves behind the right-hand side ruins and P1 on the other side sets up a shot with it at CSM2 who are bunched behind the Rhino. The turret-less Prism overdrives forward to try and distract the enemy (I gave up on it too easily. Should have saved if for useful ramming). Squad Iril flies behind the center building (Iril’s serpent is the one with no EML now) and Isis moves in the other direction to get a side shot on the Vindi.)

The two-Prism dispersed shot scatters little thanks to Twin-linked re-roll and kills 7 Marines from CSM2. Isis’ EML strikes true and turns the Vindicator into a crater. No damage to the Oblits.

Isis allowed a faint smile to cross her lips as the siege tank across from her Wave Serpent exploded, showering the Obliterators in small debris. Just then a bright laser beam shot across the battle-field in a seeming random direction. If the Chaos Marines felt any relief it was soon smashed as a second Fire Prism intercepted the shot with practised ease and focused it in its own prism. More then half of a traitor squad was vaporized by the resulting miniature solar flare. The Chaos Sorcerer was quickly losing his patience. “Where are my personal guard!” he shouted into his comm. link.

Five Terminators appear in the space between Isis, Iril, and P1. The pilots of P3 are caught unaware as a small squad of Chosen marines creep up behind it in an attempt to scorch the tank from behind. “Surprise…”

All Chaos reserves come in and the Termies don’t scatter at all. The rhino continues its rush to the objective, the remainder of CMS2 hide behind the hill closer to the Eldar and the Defiler moves to engage the Dragon’s Serpent. The sorcerer moves up to the middle of the board and the Oblits move closer to Isis.

Shooting from CSM1 and 2 leave the damaged P2 immobilised with no weapons. The Defiler fleets toward the Dragons (they have fleet??!?!) and the oblits suck bad and do nothing. The combi-meltas of the Terminator squad shake P1. P3 is also shaken by flamers on its back-armour. The Defiler fails to hurt the Dragons’ Serpent but something insidious is about to occur.

The shadows behind the Chosen of Chaos shift silently and then materialise into Striking Scorpions. “We’re here Farseers, and these mon-keigh need worry you no longer”. The distracted marines learn their doom only when one of their number falls forward with the back of his armour torn by shuriken.

The Dragons see the great daemon engine swing at their transport and miss as the pilot swerves skilfully away. Everything goes as planned until the pilot suddenly screams. Something large and scaly materialises in the cock-pit and tears the pilot to shreds before he can unbuckle himself. The Wave Serpent sits idly as the Dragons fight for their lives inside (I forgot about the Fire Dragons somehow until the shooting phase. Bloody hell)

Striking Scorpions come in on the right side and move behind the Chosen. P3 moves only a little e in case the Scorpions somehow flub. P1 hides behind the far left building (shaken) and the Farseers Doom the Terminators (the first attempt takes a wound from Iril!). The two DA Serpents surround the Termies and disembark their crew.

The Dire Avengers open fire with everything they have. After rolling 8 dice for each terminator (7 should have died) only 2 die, one power weapon and a sergent. Shooting from the tanks kills the Chain fist termie. The forgotten Dragon Serpent shoots the Defiler with Shuri Cannons but does nothing. Scorpions kill 1 marine with pistols. Assualt sees the Chosen down to just the Sergeant and he misses but stays in combat.

The scorpions quickly tear most of the Chosen squad to shreds and deflect the Sergents power sword with ease. On the other side of the field things are not so good as the terminators crackle with warp energy and only 2 of their number fall before the Bladestorm. Their Sergent is down but the flame thrower knows his job well enough.

“Fools!” thought the sorcerer as he prepared to finally unleash his lash of submission on Isis. If they were moved far enough away from their transport their plans would be ruined. He prepared the dark ritual as his two remaining terminators prepared to fry the other Dier Avenger squad. Suddenly he felt the eyes of both Farseers on him. Their psychic presence was so strong! The pressure from their combined minds was too much and he let his lash whither away. The terminators would have to complete their task alone.

The terminators move close to squad Iril and the Oblits move up and left toward Isis. The sorcerer moves level with Isis and behind the hill in the middle. The Rhino is now almost at the objective and beside the building. CSM2 moves behind this Rhino and the Defiler moves back a step.

The Sorcerer casts lash but is stopped by runes of warding. The terminator heavy flamer claims 6 of the Avengers and the Defiler’s Pie plate scatters off the Serpent before it. The Obliterators wreck Isis Serpent. Assault sees the last Chosen die and scorpions consolidate towards the objective. The defiler blows the Daragon Serpent and 2 dragons die. The terminators assault the Avengers and kill 1. They hold.

“We must secure the objective.” Iril seemed calm despite the Terminators decimating her squad. “Take my Serpent sister, I’ll hold these fools.”

Iril Serpent picks up squad Isis from the wreckage of their Serpent. P1 leaves hiding and moves towards the Oblits. The Scorpions move very little and run less so no combat this turn. P3 barely moves.

In shooting P1 kills 2 Oblits, P3 misses the rhino and the Fire Dragons finally recover from my bout of stupidity and wreck the Defiler. Assault sees an Avenger fall (1 left) and a Terminator is killed by Iril!

The terminator responsible for the charring of her squad faced Iril and laughed. He raised his weapon but nothing came out! The Farseer focused all her power and kept the flames inside the weapon. A huge explosion heralds the release of all that energy in the other direction and the Terminator is consumed. Two hulking metal mutants share his fate as a Fire Prism finally returns fire.

The Sorcerer is not happy but can do little without backup. CSM3 finally disembarks close to the objective and CSM2 moves to block the Scorpions.

Meltas miss P3 by the Eldar objective and the last Oblit shakes the last Serpent with Isis. The last Iril Dire Avenger dies in combat.

Isis looks back one last time before embarking. She sees her sister duelling a hulking chaos terminator but can do nothing. Their mission must be completed! “I pray for you sister. Hold on a while longer.”

P1 moves to set up a shot with P3 by going back and right. The last Serpent moves up and beside the Oblit. Squad Isis disembarks. This is the last turn but I couldn’t have reached the objective with Isis. My only chance was to kill the oblit and hope for another turn. The Scorpions move to engage CSM2.

Squad Isis kills the last oblit. The P1+P3 dispersed shot hit true and 9 Marines are slagged. What a shot! Then the dice gods abandon me completely as the Scorpion Exarch hits all attacks but doesn’t kill anything. The rest of his squad doesn’t kill either, one dies, and they are run down. Wtf.

Again the Eldar Prisms strike like vengeful gods. Another burst of primal fury overloads tank sensors and blinds infantry. Afterward only a faint purple afterimage and a single traitor marine remain. Good fortune turns sour as a strange shimmering light engulfs the charging Scorpions. They fight flawlessly but can already feel themselves becoming less material. They slowly fade and the Chaos Marines they were about to slaughter cheer. The Scorpions find themselves a few miles away. Too to participate further in the battle.

The Harlequin are hard pressed by their marine captors but hold on a little longer in the hope that their souls can be saved. A 1 is rolled and the game continues!

The last marine in CSM3 moves to take the objective and raises his melta. CSM2 move closer as well and raise theirs.

P3 is finally destroyed but its explosion does nothing.

“One last chance.” thought Isis as she boarded her sister’s Serpent. “Get me above the objective pilot!”

Seeing the closer Harlequin come into the possession of a single marine last Fire Prism pilot made a hard decision. “No time to fire the canon,” he shouted to his gunner. “hold on tight.”

Isis boards the Serpent and flies in to contest the objective. P1 makes a bold move and overdrives into the marine of CSM3. The death or glory hit is neutralised by the 4+ invulnerable save and the marine goes splat. Objective uncontested!

Iril duels on with the Terminator.

The combined metal push of the twins was too much for the sorcerer his men where being torn to shreds. He watched as a Wave Serpent made a sweep over the far objective and then flew away. Strange. The reason for this became obvious in a second as his Sergent reported in.

“This prisoner is dead your benevolence. He let go as soon as the Serpent flew over. No information retrieved”

“They have his soul fool!” but it was already too late. With a bellow of rage the sorcerer tore a hole in space and stepped into the portal. The rest of his army lost material form and the Eldar were left with the souls of the Harlequins in their Spirit Stones but not the information they needed.

The game ends turn 6 with a tie in my favour (his objective contested mine free). What a rollercoaster. Forgetting the Dragons sucked and the Scorpions were also ridiculously unlucky. In the end I don’t think either would have made a difference.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Really, he was 70pts under?? I posted this on LO with the same list question and people told me he was over or just at 1500pts without upgrades. With power fists in the Marine squads and such that would make him way over. I don't really care as the game was fun and I didn't feel like I was at a disadvantage.

@Somnicide: Feel free to use the same format. I swiped it from someone else so I've got no claim. The more fluffy reports out there the better.

I'll try to take pictures in the future as well because I know its hard to visualize the layout of the field from just words.

As you listed it point costs are
100+20+5 125 for Sorcerer
150+ 5+15+5+5 (180) for Termies
150+10+10 (170)*2 (340) for Space Marines on Foot
170+35 (205) for Space Marines in Rhino
90 + 20 (110) 5 Chosen with 4 Flamers
75*3 (225) 3 Obliterators
125 Vindicator with no extras
150 for Defiler with no extras

Total: 125+180++340+205+110+225+125+150 = 1460.

Not quite 70 points under but still 40 points which is enough for upgrades for his vehicles or another squad of chosen in a rhino and another combi-weapon. Even with whatever he wants to add you should have no problem with his army. Fire prisms and wave serpents with dire avengers? Yes please.

Thanks for the breakdown Phenome but I'm pretty sure your not supposed to post points for specific upgrades and base points for units. Just the totals is fine.
