Alright, Just got in my eldar battleforce yesterday, pretty happy about that. Just comes down to assembling it all and painting it up by next saturday.


(As you can see, I've gotten a bit tired of my orks. Hahaha. I still have a lot to assemble, not to forget paint. Ughh)



So far, I've finished assembling my Dire avengers, and just getting to the point where i'm finishing up my Guardians.

I must say this right now.

Whoever designed the eldar guardian legs to be in separate pieces needs to be slapped. Seriously.
I don't understand why they must be in two peices when theres no interchangability or difference amongst the rest of the legs included in the set and sprue. Its just a waste of time if you ask me.

If anyone can explain what i'm missing here with these legs, please tell me.

Other than that. I have to have everything assembled by tommorow night so I can get painting by tuesday. I have surgery on the 4th and i'm hoping that won't put me out of commission (I.E hospital stay) before the weekend comes.

***EDIT*** No longer doing Saim-hann. Gonna give a shot at my own craftworld colorscheme. Red and white is just way too boring.

I intend to pin these in the future, but i'm just gonna lightly glue some guns to the war walker/weapons platform for a game I will be attending soon.

Simply put, which are the most effective to use in general? And which are a waste of points/usage?

Anyway, I just primed the troops for now. gonna hold off on priming the Wave Serpent, walker and platform 'til tommorow.

Yes, they're primed.

I use a Grey primer. Its the best of the other options and practically gives me an endless range without having to cake my reds over a black surface so it doesn't appear splotchy.

I do plan on doing that. Kinda late for the serpent but I do plan on getting more in the future.

Hehe ok with that. I am fan of "no hard work" style so i dont like painting yellow and red (excluding orks, there the red is acceptable because being rusty and wore down) and so i use balck primer for some "automatic shading"

Yeah, I did my orks in a very simular manner. Check em out if you want.

Grey is pretty much a 'No hard work' primer to be honest, you can do both light and dark colors without having to owrry about caking on colors like I had previously said. Just takes a wee bit of extra effort to paint in areas that are hard to reach. I plan on making this army very very 'pretty' so to speak, so a lot of effort will be put into the painting process.

Anyway, I have a buddy that started an Eldar army and never really took off with it, chances are i'm going to get a bunch of units for really cheap soon .

What kind of units??? I would preferably get 2nd battleforce to have full unit of DA. Oh and are you going to make regluar guardians or convert storm guardians (they are really cool)

Least useful is the WarWalker becasue it competes with fire Prims and Falcons. As long as it looks good someone will want it though.
The guardians are ok.

Your market is going to be DAs+Waveserpent. "Competative" lists take 5 or more DA per WS. Five is good because with BS they are powerful and not a total points sinc. Most resist the 10 DA per because 2x(WS+5 DA w/EXBS) squads is more efficient and harder to kill and are troops. Those will net you $$$ the rest is icing or ebayable NOS.

War walkers huh? I hear only good things about them... Hm.

Anyway, Another update. Finally got to painting my first Eldar Miniature : an Eldar HWPlatform crewman

Not too happy with it, based it with Mechrite red, then wetbrushed blood red over that for highlights, looks wierd.

Trying basing another miniature with Blood red. Mixing a highlight right now.

War walkers are AWESOME UNIT!!! Oh man!!! I wish eldar didnt have them because they RIP everyone!!

For purchase: i suggest second battleforce and further box of avengers or fire dragons. Some jetbikes would be great too.

For the paintjob: I think that the blue on the gun etc. doesnt correspond well with the red. I mean the contrast is too... it just doesnt fit IMO. Also it looks kind of unfinished as i see there is no black lines in armour recesses but maybe thats just me as i like to have black lines here and there. Is he even finished?

No longer going to do Saim-hann for my colorscheme, its just fustratingly boring.

Anyway, I got a whole whack of eldar for dirt cheap ( I really have a knack for getting warhammer stuff for little to no money, lol) and i'm just waiting to get my hand on some Simple Clean to get rid of the previous paintjob

All added to what I previously had (Battleforce) for $130. Just gotta get the last few missing units and i'll be good to go.

I'm pretty excited to feild these units ASAP, got a game here this weekend so i'll be able to see how they run on the board.

Just for now I need to calculate points and army lists with them . And hopefully if I can find some Simple green i'll strip the previous paintjob off of them. Rethinking my colors though, I was originally intending to do the Saim-hann colorscheme but its kind of boring.

Consider a more dynamic Saim-Hann, like black that fades into red? Or black suits with red armour.

Replace bone with red and the sashes something else and I think you have a Saim-Hann force that's relatively easy to paint but looks really cool.
