as title says i have a major problom.... i love space wolves but i hate their colors i want to do black and red space wolves is that like a major problom though???

This is more of a General discussion thread but no biggie. You can paint your SW however you want. Paint them pink and purple and call them the cuddly puppies it doesnt matter. In 40k there is no strict painting guideline.

Well if you hate the fluff lovers bashing you, then create your own chapter. Succesor Chapters tend to follow the same stratedgies and rituals that the parent chapter followed.

The Space Wolves use red and black in their squad markings, so you could always say it's the preference of a particular (home brew) Wolf Lord for a particular campaign. To keep the fluff Nazis off your back, you may want to use some grey here and there as an accent.

Best move would be to just say "Successor Chapter". It explains both why Codex : Pups is used instead of Smurfs and the difference in color. In a tournament setting as long as everything is easily identifiable as what it is I've never seen a problem with painting.

I am reallly feelin the cuddle puppies but anyways. In 40k You can pretty much paint anything any color and think up a good reason as to why. I mean if you can paint orks blue and everyones cool with it you can do pretty much anything.
