Hello all,

Me and a couple of buddies are running a campaign similar to A Tale of Two Games and I thought I'd post my progress here. WARNING: I may update this slowly

First battle will be 500 points, 1 HQ, 1 Troop and no Heavy Squadrons (ie 3 LR or Carnifex)

My List:

Captain
Relic Blade
Storm Shield

Tac Squad
Missile Launcher
Flamer

Razorback with Heavy Bolters

Vindicator

First date of play is in the beginning of April. I've got a lot of painting to do.

Here's what I've got so far

Tactical Marines

Whole Squad

Vindicator

Army so far:

Any comments and criticisms are more than welcome!

Quick note, the second marine down has been fixed to have a bone coloured bolter casing and yellow eyes, i just forgot to take an updated picture

Great stuff dude, however I would suggest either painting over the eye on the Sargent or redoing it as it looks a little goofy.

Also great freehand work.

Jam: Thanks! I'm not sure how to fix the eyes on the sergeant. Never was very good at painting eyes. Any thoughts?

life.

Eye tip: paint the white, grab a sewing needle, tip the needle with desired iris color, poke in desired white spot.

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

Great weathering on the vindicator.
Eye Tip: I use pigma micro pens. They have really fine points and are waterproof and dry very fast. Multiple colors too.

Hey! More from me and my marines.

The tournament is less than a week away and I still have units to paint.

However, I did complete six more marines so my tactical squad is now done

The squad is done now!

And here is my WiP Captain with stormshield, relic blade and artificer armour!

Sorry about the poor pics, I took them in a bit of a rush last night.

Comments and critiques always welcome!

Very nice looking army. I like the very dark blue and bone scheme. Is it your own invention ?

Yup, as far as I know, I'm the only one with that particular scheme.

A really nice style you got going on there, the scheme really ties your marines nicely together. It just might be the photo, but is that relic spear a bit crooked?

It's totally the photo. I assure you, the relic blade is quite straight.

I love the paint scheme! Your tactical squad LOOKS tactical, not some GW-esque, straight out of the box marine squad that look like they fight because they have nothing better to do.. Nice Captain conversion as well. I see you've used the sorcerer staff from the Chaos Termie lord kit.. -Your Relic Blade is possessed by a Chaos Daemon! I hear the inquisition knocking!- hehe..

Yeah, I used the sorcerer staff for the back end, a power axe from the assault marine kit for the haft and a power sword from the captain sprue.

Fluff-wise I'm thinking it might be a recovered chaos weapon, un-tainted by tech magi a la calgar's gauntlets

Well holy crap! It's an update! I know it's been ages but now that my life's calmed down again, I thought that I would pick up my marines again and keep this blog alive today.

SO..... I've renamed my chapter to The Dark Sons. Basilisk Marines just wasn't working for me. Fluff wise I'm thinking I might make them one of the Cursed Founding Chapters and I'm thinking that they're curse might be that only a select few marines survive the genetic implants and augmentations such that the chapter is very small and dwindling. They know this and try to fight out their last days, gaining as much honour and glory for their chapter before it passes to legend.

PICS!

Here is the Razorback I'm working on. These shots are of the completed inside of the vehicle

Expect pics of the finished razorback and the next squad of marines soon!
