Just got back in to 40k after a long absence, and hopefully looking for advice and such.

Typically, I sold almost my entire army about a year before I decided to get back in to it! and am now replacing all that I had lost, still such is the way of things!

I have a space Ork army, which is around 1200 points and expanding, and I am looking to Kustom make most of the vehicles, so if there are any builders here I will be picking brains, maybe literally

I will mostly be asking advice and offering any information I can to people about things and stuff, I have been in the 'hobby' from the late 80s and have been a roleplayer since I was about 9 years old. I do make my own scenery and customise models and figures, which is also why I like the Orks particularly, it allows for lots of tinkering!

Anyway that is me, and I look forward to nosing around...

cheers

Well, Welcome back then!

Orks are definitely great for kitbashing vehicles.
Every time I go to the local non-nerdy hobby shop, I look around at the WWII models and think "Wow, this would be a GREAT Ork (insert vehicle, post, etc here)!"

And then I look around at some other models and think
"Man, if I only had the seventy five bucks to spend on this beauty" then settle down and buy a good chunk of various plasticard and other bare essentials.

I know, I have a KV1 1:35 scale waiting to be a Battlewagon, and a couple of 1:72 SU152s slowly becoming halftrakk Trukks.

Not sure why it all seems to be Russian armour though!

Beautiful stuff.
Stalin probably has something to do with this fact, and when I was at Fort Polk doing training exercises, I saw an inordinate amount of orky-looking Russian vehicles.
Either way, in as far as kitbashery goes, I've been thinking about making an IG-style helicopter.
