So without anything better to do this morning i had a bash of sculpting a head for the first time, and it has surprisingly turned out better than i'd thought. will post pics when i work the camera and figure out how to post them. I'm now thinking about sculpting a body to go with it. more to come......

tried that, everything comes out clear but the face is still blured

Macro mode, the button usually has a flower on it, and a mountain signifies the opposite.

Take in good light. If you don't have lots of lights or a light tent (with lots of lights) then take them outside (but not in direct sunlight.

Keep your non-cellphone camera steady, if you don't have a tripod, set it down on something, and hold it with both hands.
