Hey all - been lurking here at Dakka for a few weeks now. Wife and I are just getting into the game of 40k, really. I've got a decent Tau army together, and about 750 points largely finished to date, with a lot of devilfish hulls staring at me saying "paint me, paint me!". Little disappointed with Tau already - I'd chosen them initially because they seemed very advanced, and I was hopeful that the AI element in the fluff would have a much stronger presence. Looking to start a second army that's rich in fluff, different in play, and has more available lists/choices soon.
Anyway, had some questions, had some answers, so thought I'd go ahead and join and post  Dakka rocks, learned a LOT of rules stuff from reading discussions here.

Welcome to dakka dakka. Dont give up on your Tau everyone loses battles when they start . I would recommend chaos though , all those pointy shoulder pads and daemons. ( I was fored to say this at gun point damn you chaos loyalists )

Welcome to dak dak¡ If you are looking for an exact opposite i would recommend Orks becaue they exceed at the assault phase. Another thing going for them is they also are very versatile just be sure to stick with one thing example do NOT mix shooty boyz with assaulty boyz. Last you can incorporate any other tank from any army into Orks. It is called the looted wagon. It isnt the most competitive tank but it is fun to convert.
