I recently got back into to 40k. I picked up the starter and tired to get my wife interested in painting and playing. That didn't work out as well I as I was hoping but it gave me 2 armies to start collecting : ). I've been tracking the progress of my armies and sharing it with my brother who plays Tau. We live on opposite sides of the coast so it's a cool way to keep in touch. Anyways, I've got a bunch of photo of the assembling and painting of my armies and I thought I'd share it with the Dakka community.

Blood Angels:
I'm using this article as the base for my reds: http://stuck-between-stations.blogspot.com/2010/01/tutorial-painting-red.html
Replacing the green ink with a custom made medium body black wash.

Test models:

The left one has been shaded using the article as a guide, the right was simply dry brushed and inked. I think the shaded one looks much better.

Rhino:

My First Dreadnought:

The dread is the most recent model I've painted and I really like how the red turned out. I tried leaving the center's darker and highlight radially out. I'm painting my predator with this style and I'll post the results soon.

Orks:
For the orks I pretty much just paint the base colours and then apply a black/brown ink. Only the ork skin gets a dry bush before the ink. My boss did get a little bit more attention though.

The Mob:

Let me know what you think! I'll try to keep this post updated. I usually take a couple pictures every time I paint, so I may get to updating 1 to 3 times a week. Sorry If the pictures suck. These were all taken with my cell.

Quick question, Has anyone found a good way to base the Space Hulk terminators ?? I want to get to painting the ones I have, but I'm not so sure on how to base them so they don't look weird.

I think they look amazing. Although BA tend to be a lighter red than what you got there,
they still look awesome. Love the Dreadnought.
