If you mean the tank, it's also "Vindicator" in German. "#9" is "Nummer neun" in German. Why? 
If you mean the word "Vindicator", it's either "Rechtfertiger" or "Rächer". My Langenscheidt-dictionary isn't that clear, but I think "Rächer" is the right word.
By the way, "Guten Tag mein Freund" is correct German.
