I'm starting warmachines today and I'd like the advice of experienced players. I'm going with Menoth and a friend of mine is going to play Khador, I want to know if we could play with two steam/warjacks and one caster each, or would we need something else?

It's a good way to start out. The Menoth starter box come with three warjacks and a warcaster.

smaller games like that are a good way to go. if your going with the battleboxes, the points are still pretty close i think.

a caster and 2 of the multi model plastic jacks would also work well.

With the exception of Cryx, all the battle boxes come out to 11 pts, so that would work pretty well.

As far as a pair of jacks and a caster each, it's perfectly legal, but make sure to keep an eye on points. 2x Khador jacks could easily not be equal in points or effectiveness to 2x Menoth jacks.

Thanks for the advice, we each got the our respective battle boxes and had a few battles. Now I have a second question, what in the name of the immortal God Emperor is a Wrack and what do I use it for?

wracks are focus batteries for Menoth casters, and also explosive devices if used correctly. they are a single point for 3 of them. they create focus the a caster can take and add to his FOC stat.

They're solos (individual models). They can't move but your Warcaster can draw focus from them (which may cause them to explode).

High Executioner Reznik turns enemy models into Wracks.

Sounds like something I should get then, if not for the game then simply because they look good.
