Ok so I finally got drawn into starting Hordes, and decided upon Legion... Ive done a couple games on vassal with a friend to help get down the rules to some extent but heres the 35pt list I was using.
Thagrosh, the Messiah
Typhon
2 Carniveans
Shredder
2 Shephers
So odviously I decided upon a Warbeast horde...
So since Im new to this, does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe to changing the list... tactics with a Warbeast horde or the game in general... Any tips or C/C would be greatly appreciated!

i was tinking of starting with hordes aswell for in our local club , also with the Legion
but how does it work with the +5 warbeast points , is the warcaster for free... for example : 15 points battle , and you get 5 points from the warcaster does that mean you get to spent 20 points on warbeats for your 15p battle ??

it means you get 20 points, 5 of which MUST be beasts, the other 15 can be whatever. (So you can do 20 pts just beasts)

I say drop the shredder and get a forsaken at this point value the forsaken hits harder is relatively quick and offers additional fury management.

Actually Zhetsuken, I did just that erlier today when I was looking at the list and realized one warbeast was without fury management... Any tactics on how to use the warbeasts? I found that when trying to get tied up with units, its easiest to trample towards the prefered target, but not sure how effective it actually is to do that. Edit: Does anyone have advice on how to play a list such as this? Since Im so new, Ive been making some major mistakes, and really need a better idea of how to run a warbeast horde... Any help is extremely appreciated.

I can't give you any universal tactics, we all play differently and it really depends on who your opponent is and what army they are playing.
Best advise I can give is take full advantage of the carniveans ability to charge into troops then use it's 10" template.
The typhon is going to attract a lot of fire as well as general hate either keep it protected or run it like a living engine of destruction and bring it back with Thags feat.
Keep the forsaken near one of the carniveans or thyphon so it can offer support if the Carni or Typhon didn't kill it's target on the charge, if the forsaken has fury it will.
Trampling is very good just don't get over zealous with it, some times you need it to dent or kill a whole units and after the charge low and behold they only lost 1 maybe 2 models not a good way to spend your activation.
Last bit of advise the new rules really make hordes viable but you cannot play it like Warmachine, being tactical ad trying to get your opponent to give you that one opening doesn't seem to work in my experience. Since Hordes typically looses a battle of attrition don't let it become one, do not hold back run those heavies right into their teeth and keep swinging till they are dead, sounds simplistic but it usually tends to work. The games i have most notably lost were the ones where i held back and tried to out think my opponent. Don't get me wrong though definitely use tactics and correct positioning, but the greatest strength hordes has is the power of your warbeasts since are not limited by your warlocks fury stat.

I have never played warmachine/hordes but am interested and have been reading the rules/cards for everblight (general rules i mean)
the +5 is an additional 5 points that can only be spent on warbeasts (the rules about starting an army)
so if your starting a 35 point army its 35+5 (warbeasts only)
shredders work better in packs btw because of their rabid rule they can be extremely deadly and rip anything to bits if used correctly. Their animus is also great.
Have you looked at angelius? Check battlecollege for his testimony but basically hes a assassin and all you have to do is make a few smart moves and he'll ko the enemy warcaster before turn 5

That is correct you get 5 points additional to spend on warbeasts.
Shredders are good in general whether you are running 1-4 I wouldn't go over 4, however, I have had the forsaken eat a light warjack in one round or assassinate a caster with decent roles. I have never managed that with my shredders also the forsaken gives you fury management shredders compound that issue.
I run an Angelius in my current Absylonia list, have been playing with the idea of running 2. But they are pretty squishy in melee against other heavies since they only have one attack and it is a special attack so they only get to use it once you cannot buy more attacks with fury for it. Thats why I love the Carniveans they are damage sinks that can give out as much punishment as they take though they are super pricey both in dollar amount and points.

Well I took your advice Zhetsuken, I tried a game or two on vassal (I know I know... vassal really isnt the best way to try out things) where I rushed forward and I honestly just get mauled... I could never seem to get the charge off on Jacks... and as soon as my Warbeasts got charged (by units or jacks/beasts) they got killed...
I did however try a game where I moved the models up as far as I could then second turn charged what was in range (they had planned to counter charge with their own beasts) and popped epic thagrosh's feat to pull everything back thus defeating their counter charge attempt... I didnt get to finish the game, but that definitely seemed to work and it looks like I would have won had we continued... My only major problem thus far is not looking ahead at how much fury thag is going to leech next turn, and the not removing the excess with the sheps/forsaken... Between that and not putting the regen animus' and spells up, it seems to be the only major drawback... so once I remember to do those things I should start doing ALOT better...
On the plus side, I actually got my models today so I can finally play an actual game! Thanks for all the advice!

The only army i have an issue with getting charged by is Cryx as they are a touch faster then we are. Other wise rush up but don't leave your self wide open force them to walk into your charge lanes. Most Jacks are pretty slow and things like the carnivean have a 9 inch charge, use your speed to your advantage. Sounds like you are getting the hang of it.
Try exploiting terrain so they can't shoot at you, wait for them to get close and give'm all you got. I personally don't have alot of experience running Thag I use Absylonia, or Vayl.
Good luck and may you serve Everblight even in death
