New to Warmahordes and I'm just curious as to what podcasts my fellow dakkaites might recommend!

there are several out there and a few have far different formats so it will really come down to personal taste.
guts & gears has a very positive tone to it over all and the hosts do a great job making the whole thing seem more professional.
my personal favorite is focus and fury just for the pure entertainment value, they are highly opinionated and i dont agree with them on all points but they do a good job of keeping me laughing whether i agree or disagree.

+1 for Focus and Fury

boosted damage and guts and gears are more evenly toned but lack the humor aspect that FnF has.

iron agenda is also worth checking out.

There ain't nearly enough Salvage in this thread!

Focus & Fury, for entertainment. I disagree with a lot of their views, but they definitely make me laugh.

Iron Agenda fits in the same category.

Guts & Gears is fairly fanboy oriented. Sam is a great guy (met him at Templecon), but I can only take so much gushing, heh.

Agreed!!!

Sam is a great chap (even though hes a Brit, but no ones perfect ) had a chance to meet and play a game with him at Templecon 2010 and it was a blast.

About the only podcast i bother with and it has good content.

I vote for Iron Agenda.

I am not a huge fan (in fact, I hate it) of Focus & Fury.

Guts 'n Gears is a close second to Iron Agenda. Both podcasts deliver helpful advice and the hosts are well informed.

Iron Agenda, for the sound quality alone it is the best podcast for me.

On par with 40k Radio in technical aspects.

The echoing room sound of many podcasts makes me turn it right off. That and breathing/chewing on the mic.

D6 Generation also regularly touch on Warmachine. Russ and Raef are raving fanboys for the game.

I'm fairly new to Warmachine/Hords but i've become a fan of Iron Agenda. As a new player I find them full of good information, humor and as already pointed out, good sound quality.

I'll throw my vote in for the Iron Agenda. There out of my home town and a great bunch of guys who go out of their way to be as up on the rules as possible. As one of the St Louis Press Gangers I will say that on rules questions they are the ones I'll goto first if it's something I'm unsure about. Especially Josh. Also take it with a grain of salt as I've been on an episode here and there so I'm a bit biased.

I've listened to a few of the others and I'll download them when something seems interesting in the show notes for them but Iron Agenda is set to auto-download new episodes.

I've been listening to Iron Agenda for the last 2 days, awesome stuff.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Another vote for Iron Agenda. They are the one game-specific podcast I listen to and are my current #2 favorite show behind the D6 Generation. They really know their stuff and as has been said before, the show has great sound. They can be a little daunting for noobs at first, however, because they do use a lot of "shop talk" and acronyms. Took me a couple of episodes to figure out that "TFG" was Temple Flameguard as I don't play Menoth.
They're also very humorous, and while they do swear on the show, it's definitely not the "swearing just to swear" that makes
some other podcasts sound like a bad night on Xbox Live.

Player of many. Master of none. My blog - http://jack-of-all-games.blogspot.com/

Iron Agenda is, hands-down, the best WM/H podcast. D6G is, overall, the best podcast I've ever listened to, but they cover things outside WM/H as well.

Focus and Fury is good if you like their attitude and don't take all the ranting seriously. I do, but it is not for everyone.
Guts n'Gears is good if you are a new player and need introductions. They also get really good interviews. Sometimes, however, it gets a bit fawning, as some have noted.
The Prime Generation is a new one, not established yet.
Out of Formation comes out irregularily and has awful sound quality (plus, they have bad mic discipline). If you love F&F they might be a second podcast for you.

Old Fell Calls is a classic, but they ended their run when Mk2 came out. THACO, their follow-up podcast that covers rpgs mainly, is still a good listen.

Now what stops all those other podcasts from sounding as good as Iron Agenda?

I don't care how good the content is. THe sound is the main thing to me. I use headphones to listen to these and hear Everything.

I would compare it to getting the network stations on your old rabbit ears.
Sure the shows are good, but you have to put up with garbage to enjoy them.

I just wish more of them would bite the bullet and upgrade their equipment if that is the problem.

Let's just say you should stick to Iron Agenda and perhaps F&F/GnG, and avoid any interviews made outside the studio. Avoid Prime Generation and Out of Formation if background sound is your main concern.

this is what makes FnF so great, they have such a large pool of haters. their forum is like an X rated PP forum.

I listened to one ep of G&G at the request of a friend (he wanted opinions of the lists). It was the one where they had the guests do Tier lists out of the Khador book and they absolutely raved over how nice every list was and how each was just totally broken. It was almost laughable with one guy trying to make Zerkova work in her tier competitively. At least two of them did try though with the third just throwing out netlists.

Is Out of Formation still going? I hadn't gotten an iTunes update for them in a while now.

They always had an erratic release system. Or they might just have spilled all that food they like to eat half an inch from the mike into the recording equipment and short-circuited it.

Ask around on the PP fora?

I listened to a couple episode of Lost Hemisphere Radio, and I got to say that these guys fill the void left behind by the Podthralls:
http://losthemisphere.wordpress.com/2010/05/01/introducing-lost-hemisphere-radio/

Not only do they discuss the game of Warmachine/Hordes, but they also discuss the Iron Kingdoms and RPG systems for the IKRPG experience.
