Since I like diversity, and models are awesome even unpainted, I collect what I really enjoy, look and fluff wise, nothing large, nothing too expansive ( xept Sisters ), small skirmish games, mainly for them to get "experience" , I like to view them as miniature art first, then as actual game part.
Being a rather expensive hobby, and me having a lot "other" hobbies, basically time and finance dictate the collection sizes one can acquire.
Roughly the points would be:
Space Marines ~ 850, Chaos ~ 700, Necron ~ 600, Sisters of Battle ~ 800, Guard ~ 750.
