New to the forums obviously. I'm pretty new to 40k itself too but not to the universe, as I've read some of the Black Library books and played Dawn of war and the like and Dark Heresy and although its only semi related alot of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2e too.
Got my first model the other day in the mail (Commander Shadowsun lol) and I have plans to rapidly expand my first army starting this/next week.
I'm happy to be here, hopefully I can get some pointers and tactics tips and tricks from the seasoned pros. Til later, I wish you guys good gaming.

Welcome to Dakka. Check out the army list forum with what you plan on using and reading battle reports and see how other people do it.
Also the best thing to do is to play against someone who doesn't just smack you around because you are new.
