Recently picked up the battlegroup, and wanted to see how this list stacked up.
Iron Lich Asphyxious
Deathripper
Deathripper
Slayer
6 Mechanithralls
Skarlock Thrall
6 Bane Thralls
Reaper
Only parts I'm not solid on is the unit of mechanithralls. They seem to be too small to do anything really.

Agreed, use the points to fill up that unit of Bane Thralls.

Or drop the Reaper, and fill out both thrall units and add a Siren.
Reaper is 7 IIRC.

i would roll with this:
Iron Lich Asphyxious
Deathripper
Deathripper
Slayer
Skarlock Thrall
Bane Thralls (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Bane Lord Tartarus
Necrotech & 1 Scrap Thrall
Warwitch Siren
you have a pretty solid jack core for a small 25 point game. the skarlock helps with your spellcasting. banethralls are good, but they arnt great without tartus's curse to make them MAT 8. the necrotech can heal up your jacks and the warwitch siren is just a multitool.

I like Nightwrenches more than the Deathrippers myself, since you can't use the Arc Node if they're in melee.

I am with you. I can resist the temptation to charge if all I have is a bash.
But he said he had the starter box, so might as well go with 'Rippers.

I made both my Nightwrenches out of Deathrippers by sticking guns in their mouths because I think the head on the Wrench looks stupid...

Hmmm,
Whilst I'm a tad loathe to remove the Reaper, I can certainly see your point. studderingdave's list looks probably right. Are Nightwretches the same cost as Deathrippers? If so, I can probably switch 'em out. In that case, I'll throw in the Reaper in at 35.
Finally, any tips against pVlad? Blood of Kings looks certainly harsh and I'm not quite sure how I'll deal with it. I was thinking of charging Asphyxious in, boosting attacks with his 7 or so focus, pop his feat, use the 5 focus to get more attacks/boost, then use the final 2 to teleport behind a 'jack or something. Otherwise, I'm not too sure, as PVlad with Blood of Kings could probably eat up my Slayer.

the saving grace when playing against pVlad is he cant have signs and portents AND BoK up at the same time. i would try to bait him with a jack of yours to make him pop his feat early. it will cost you the jack, but you can then draw out his army better.
nightwretches cost the same as deathrippers, the tradeoff is the deathripper has a decent close combat attack where the nightwretch gives that up for a short ranged but powerful ranged attack that can be made into an AOE when needed. i prefer them over deathrippers becuase you really dont want your nodes in CC anyways.

Killing Vlad with Blood of kings cast: knock him down with an indirect slam, cast Parasite onto him, then hit him repeatedly with anything you have to hand until he dies. Breath of Corruption cannot miss if your arc node/caster is close enough (within 4"). Boosted damage rolls at POW 12 can do some nasty damage to him.

Mechanthralls are awesome
run a max unit of them... they are cheap enough to be used as a screening unit, and yet, with combo strike can still kill h-jacks.
They are awesome and I love them, lol
