What is a painting masterclass? It is an intensive class on painting figurines over 2 days. Every techniques and theoretical concepts are covered from the undercoat to perfect blending passing by zenithal lighting.
The imposed figurine will allow every student to have plenty of time to explore the principal areas of painting: clothing, skin, the face and metallics. In term of theory, zenithal lighting, composition, color theory and base conception will be explored giving every students a complete understanding of the theoretical concepts to maximise the impact of his or her miniature.
The class is over 2 intensive days, saturday and sunday. Saturday starts at 9 am and last until 9 pm and sunday goes from 9am to 6 pm.
The class is open to every level of painters. Whether you are holding a brush for the first time or you have painted hundreds of models for your armies everyone will benefit from this class. Each students will receive the same technical and theoretical information but the follow up is totally personalised and 1 on 1. Every student will be pushed to the maximum of his or her abilities in order to make sure that everyone get the maximum out of this experience. So whether you are an army painter that want to know how to have better results on its favorite model or you are the painter that dream about a Golden Demon this class is for you.
We have space for 20 students so make sure you reserve your spot quickly. For more information or to register you can contact the organizer of the event.
If you have any questions or would like to register to one of these masterclasses you can contact me or the person responsible for the event you are interested in.

Just out of interest -- I'm in UK so not a potential customer -- what happens at these Masterclass events?
Are they a two day painting and modelling teaching session?

Nothing in the southeast either... :(
The missus would miss me, but it'd be time well spent to refine techniques.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Greetings all I am the organizor for the hudson mass event . If you guys want one email him that is what I did. I saw the california one pop up on his blog and emailed himasking if he was interested in comming to hudson. His price is understatably worth while believe me for what you are getting in training. I have had my tickets up for this for two weeks and sold out on half the spots so they go quick and Mathieu posts about it. Heck I have one guy comming from Bahrain in the middle east JUST TO DO THIS CLASS!!! so email him if you want one in your area. You won't be disapointed.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Ditto on Chicago, I'd love to attend one of these and go from being a mediocre painter to a less mediocre painter.

I'd so love to attend one. Have a friend in CO Springs. Maybe I can convince her to pay for my way out there.
LOL.
21 hours of painting and learning to improve. Easily worth the price to me, even without the catered lunch.

Small reminder that the Masterclass in Boston is this weekend and there is still a few places left. There is also 1 or 2 spots left for Austin!
Otherwise I am really happy to announce a new Masterclass in the land of Dorothy and Toto! I’ll be heading to Wichita Kansas in february to teach a masterclass. For more information or to register contact Christ West at 2tonstudios@gmail.com. The class will be held at Agents Comics and Games on February 19-20, 2011.
There is also some discussion for San Diego as we speak. Remember, if you want to have a masterclass in your city do not hesitate to contact me.

I too would love one in the Philly area (or perhaps the nice quiet central to Philly, Baltimore, DC, Pittsburgh and NYC location of Harrisbug, PA).
