Subject: Black Templar vs Eldar 'Ard Boyz practice 2500, (Video)
HQ's Helbrecht: 5/10. Helbrecht in this game was pretty much just an expensive meat shield this game. For 175 points I think I would have been better off leaving him out altogether, taking one more terminator and saving myself 132 points. Castellan in jumppack 7/10. I have to hand it to this guy, he's very mobile, very good at killing things (6 reroll hit and wound power weapon attacks on a charge) but without upgrades to armor or the iron halo he did die rather fast, he would have been a ton better had I not put him in open view of the snipers Emperor's Champ: 10/10 Giving my whole army preferred enemy and being able to survive a turn in close combat against not just 1 but 2 eldar hq's and a squad of dire avengers. I couldn't be happier.
Elite's: Venerable dreadnought: 9/10. He may be more expensive than a predator annihilator but in cover and combined with the move and shoot this guy is a crazy tank killing beast, it didn't show in the video either but he was prevented from being detroyed 3 times thanks to his reroll damage chart ability and had yuriel not made his invuln save, would have killed him too. Altogether this dread killed a falcon and 2 walkers. Normal dreadnought: 8/10 very cheap and well worth the points, performed decently. Assault Terminators: 8/10 I played these guys poorly but this squad was amazing. In one turn it soaked up fire from 2 blade storming(not sure on exact term but it was the reroll miss things the dire avengers have) dire avenger squads, yuriel and the other guy, a falcon and two wave serpents, and another squad of dire avengers. That is a crazy amount of firepower to soak up, I just have to utilize them better.
Troops: Crusader Squad. 7/10. Performed decently, killed a fair amount of units and soaked up a lot of ammo. Couldn't have asked for more.. well except for more guns and less melee maybe or another rhino or two.
Fast Attack: Assault Squad. 7/10. This squad did just fine, it did get pinned making them less useful but their ability to handle a number of situations is very nice. Landspeeder Typhoon: 5/10 This thing was a waste of points and an easy kill point for my enemy. Heavy bolter and typhoon launchers are pretty lackluster. Landspeeder tornado: 7/10. This thing had much better guns but I think I'd be better off taking the heavy flamer and not the multimelta as it would have been nice to deal with those pathfinders earlier in the game.
Heavy: Predator annihilators: 8/10. These things really do pack a punch and take a hit well. They aren't very useful against infantry,however. Landraider crusader. 6/10. Um this unit pretty much acted as an expensive transport that was easily ignored by my enemy. I don't think its as useful as people think it is and at such an expensive cost for such a low amount of firepower I'm really second guessing this unit. It did take forever to kill though, but I owe that to the smoke launchers.
Thoughts on the eldar: Well it was my first game against them and I think I truly underestimated their mobilty and shooting ability. They also had some real close combat monsters (yuriel was CRAZY OP) and what really broke my army was him using doom on my terminators and using other various psychic abilities that are really frickin crazy. His tanks, though not as strong as mine had great armor abilities (the reducing my str to 8 and the roll 2 for damage chart and take the lowest). Overall, I think I would have done better having more knowledge about them, I still think I would have lost, however, as I just did not have enough firepower to deal with all of his troops. Placing my army where I did was also hard as he got to rearrange his deployment (2 units anyway, could have been 5?). I really love playing the eldar, they are a blast!

Good game, it sort of seemed like he killed your whole army with 1 guy though. I'm not sure how to spell the name so I won't even try, but ouch, his special character really put the hurt on your army.

Yea attacking Yuriel with squads is a bad idea because he will just Nerf you with his eye laser. He was less likely to use his eye of doom when he was attached to Eldrad and the Dire Avengers. Mech eldar is a tough match up they will surprise you especially if its your first time playing them! Good job.
Yriel is hows its spelled guys. No 'u' in there. Anywho mechdar are pretty deadly if handled well, though his seemed like more of a hybrid list what with the war walkers and rangers and such. Eldrad and Yriel are certainly the classic 'ard boyz duo.

yea I totally couldn't figure out why he detached him from the rest of the squad at first, then blamo! Sorry for spelling yriel wrong btwlol. Yea I'm thinking I might drop the land raider for a vindicator, and switch out the multi-melta on the landspeeder for a heavy flamer. I think a well placed vindicator shot could have possibly taken out entire squads of his and the wave serpents they were in. Yea but I do feel ashamed in a way that yriel kinda wiped the floor with me, I should have waited and tried to kill the waveserpents with everything I had, that way I could have just shot at yriel and not have gotten raped by him.
