Okay my fellow Droogs our campgain will be starting soon. So its time to get ready to start my army. Were doing an escalating map campaign that will start at 500 and escalate up 250 points every month or so all the way up till 1750. I will start a log about the campgain but I figured this is a good way to keep me motivated. I realize as I type this since playing since third edition out of all the armies Ive ever owned Ive never truly finished one so my goal is to actually finish this army!!!!! So lets get to it!

Here is my first purchase and my 500 points

My list is
Belial
5 Terminators- Assault Cannon
Dreadnought (using the venrable because it looks cool)

Ill update as I assemble and paint things. Wish me luck!

Okay got an update!!!!!! Im taking this pictures at 11 at night so no daylight so not the best pics.

First here are my tokens for the map.

Built my Dreadnought. The venerable dread kit is awsome and i had a blast. Thanks too a buddy I had access to a bunch of the Dark Angels iconography from the ravenwing battle force. I used a deathcopta for the base as I wanted to do something with it but didnt want to over power it. The Green stuff was to fill a gap that will be covered when I base it.

I also built my Belial tonight. I realize he has flash that needs removed. I didnt want to use the metal captain I bought as I didnt think he would fit well. My buddies just happen to have enough bits so I could build a terminator so here he is. The shoulder pads are going to be a Belial thing only as I didnt have extra termi shoulder pads but I did have extra shin guards from the dreadnought. Hes not done yet as Im going to add a bit more iconography to him.

So theres the start to my Deathwing force. Assembling these guys were some of the most fun in 40k ive had. Ive been use to building straight out of the box but with all the bits I had access too they worked out really well. Once painted you can hopefully get a bit more of the details out of the models.

So let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

P.S. Tomorrow Ill be getting some pictures from my fellow droogs( sorry been reading clockwork orange) of their armies for the campaign. Should I just add it all here or start a seperate blog?

Hey,
Really cool stuff here.
The dread shin-guards look cool, and will do a lot to set this guy apart from the other terminators.
My only complaint is the genestealer skull, it just looks likes its balancing and could fall off any second.

Thanks! Any ideas on how to make it not look like that?

Put a spike coming out of the top of the Genestealer head...to make it look skewered!

Don't forget to drill out your gun barrels too!

the easiest way would be to file down the bottom flatter.
Well not actually flat, file it down so it has the same curvature as the shoulder so more of the surface is touching.
You could also chain it down, there are some really good tutorials for GS chains if you search around.

Are you going to file down the mold lines?

And yes, that Venerable Dreadnought looks kickass.

Okay Update time.

For the deathwing I was able to finish Belial by adding some neat doo dads and able to base him and the dread.

Dread

Okay now thats out of the way I can now introduce my competitors in the campaign.

First of all are my pals Iron Warriors
His Warforge

A painted terminator

A mix of champions and basic troopers

BTW that Iron Warriors symbol on the shoulder pad is free hand…

A havoc w/ autocannon

Next is my buddys army that is a blood angels counts as army. He calls them the Tiamat dragons based on the Black dragon chapter seen here http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Black_Dragons but that they have evolved to become more draconic.

Note there on square bases as hes going to do water on their regular bases so those are just holders of the models for now. Also these are his first paint jobs so don’t be harsh too him thanks!

A Sergeant

A basic Assault marine

A painted trooper

And for S & G’s our work table today

So there you have it. An update on my Deathwing and some going ons of the other armies.

Lmk what you guys think

Cool stuff, but did you guys really ALL have to do marine armies?

Their is nothing better then being generic and kickbutt at the same time.

I like the dread. Only advice Id have for that: Move the hand and position it on the rotor sticking from the ground. That would kinda look like hes pushing his way through.
