I'm a former gamer who's been thinking of getting back into painting for a while now (read as: forum lurking ).

Guess I stopped about a decade ago now, but I've got myself a little project lined up for post exams (University finals) since my girlfriend has taken an interest and got me some paints and a model to see what I can do*.

I was a 40k kid back in the day, covering eldar (mostly) with a bit of dark eldar and 'nids later on.


*Is it just me, or is the brush in the starter paints set fething awful? Bristles feel like a drybrush - I can't foresee the paint flowing very nicely off them.

Cheers, I figured that was the case - I'll have to get some of my old kit sent up...

Seems a pretty crap way to introduce people to the hobby, an awful brush and a selection of paints that are only functional if you're painting a colourblind ork or are already very happy with making your paint shades from very disparate colours and watering to [create] inks.
