Hello Dakka!
We just finished a four-week 1250-point series here, and we're rolling right into a new map-based campaign using the Planetary Empires tiles and a custom-designed campaign system. We're adding players (and painting more map tiles) over the next two weeks and starting officially on Tuesday May 11. I'll be posting updates both here, and on my new blog:
http://www.captureandcontrol.blogspot.com/. If you're in the Southern California / L.A. area and you're looking for some campaign play, come down on Tuesday!
For now, here's the setting and location descriptions, as a teaser:

The Avellorn Campaign
The Hive world of Avellorn has stood as an example of the Imperium for centuries. Not the glittering jewel that is Ultramar, but far from the war-torn landscapes of Armageddon, Avellorn has been as good a place as any in the Imperium, and more than most could hope for. The winds of the Time of Ending have finally reached this bastion though, and the first rumblings of turmoil started among the workers of the vast Mechanicum complex on Avellorn Secundus. The speed and ferocity of the rebellion, matched only by the reprisal that put it down. The dust hasn't yet settled, and the once thriving continent is little more than a ghost town now, with scattered pockets of life living under the shadow of Vanaheim Hive. Teams are massing to move in and root out the last of the rebellion, as well as begin the rebuilding process, but there is much work to do, and many who would use the recent troubles to gain a foothold of their own...
The Avellorn Campaign is a Map-based campaign that will run for six weeks, with games played on Tuesday nights. Players must choose one army to use for the duration of the campaign but are free to alter the composition of their list and/or change the size of the battle each time they play. Battles will be fought over the various regions of Avellorn Secundus, and each region has its own character. With each game played, players will see their armies progress; as units gain experience they will progress toward becoming veterans. The empty landscape surrounding Vanaheim is unforgiving though, and those that fall behind may not find their way back...
The Regions:
Vanaheim Hive - The towering spires of Vanaheim Hive loom over the blasted wastelands of Avellorn Secundus. It is the last holdout of Imperial society on the rapidly degenerating continent and remains intact, despite recent instability in the region.
The Sump-Swamps of Vanaheim Hive - Once an ecologically sound area of savannah, the lowlands directly north of Vanaheim were quickly choked with waste from the hive and overrun with toxic sludge. The zone has been left to rot, largely due to the fact that it creates a natural barrier on the main approach to the hive.
The Redstone Deserts - Strange rock formations puncture the landscape in this weird desert to the Northwest of Vanaheim. Geologicus survey teams spent years here studying the mineral potential of the formations but their eventual conclusion was that no significant use could be applied to the glassy shards.
The Equatorial Wasteland - As barren as the surface of a moon, the austere landscapes of the flatlands on the equator of Avellorn Secundus have successfully swallowed up all attempts to build or settle there, leaving a flat, harsh land dotted with the occasional ghost town or empty facility.
The Ash Wastes - Continental weather patterns send winds rushing across the industrial sprawls of Huelan City and the Phi-Gamma Complex and then curve upward toward the equator, depositing the exhaust of all that industy on the flatlands to the Northeast of Vanaheim, creating a nightmare land of shifting toxic dust and caustic silt sinkholes.
The Eisenbach Line - Built at the outset of hostilities to protect Huelan City and its spaceport, the Eisenbach Line saw some of the first and most furious of the fighting, as bands of dispossessed renegades attempted to break through to the Hab blocks of the city beyond. The line stands, largely deserted now but intact, unlike the city it was to protect.
Huelan City - Once housing the greater mass of the workforce of Phi-Gamma, Huelan City was bombarded into oblivion after renegades breached and circumvented the Eisenbach line. Few survived, be they loyal or traitor. The place is now a husk, housing what remains of the rebels in isolated cells, and those poor loyal souls that were unfortunate enough to survive.
Manufactorum Complex Phi-Gamma - The prize of Avellorn Secundus, the Mechanicum complex Phi-Gamma was a thriving facility that churned out a staggering array of product, specializing in ship components. Much of the complex survives intact, as neither the rebels nor the loyal Imperial forces was willing to risk much damage to it. It's great forges lay silent now however, as the pall of disuse settles over the region as a whole.
