For those who are interested, SCGWL is running a couple of small events in the LA area this month:

Fantasy Mini GT
May 22nd and 23rd at the Battle Bunker in West Minster
$30 entry fee, first 40 sign up get in (money due day of)
We will be doing prize support and trophies, with prizes for Overall, Best General, Best Sportsman, Best Painted, and Misfire. The format is our standard 2250 with no special characters. It will be two games per day, starting at noon both days. Scenario packet is forthcomming, but it will be a preview of our Halloween themed scenarios for the SoCal Slaughter 4 in August (and Neon-Con Vegas GT in November), so its a chance to get some practice in. This is not a Golden Ticket event.

Strategicon RTTs (Strategicon.net)
May 29th and 30th at the Gamex 2010 taking place at the Sherriton Gateway
Anyone with a valid convention badge is allowed to walk in and play, with registration occuring at 8:30am the morning of.
The 40k RTT will occur on Saturday. The Fantasy event will occur on Sunday. Prize support will be based on participation. Rules packets can be found here:

This will be the final Fantasy event that SCGWL will run using 7th Edition.

Hopefully, we will see you guys. I will post the Mini GT packet as soon as it is ready to go. Keep an eye on us for the SoCal Slaughter Fantasy GT August 21st to the 22nd at the Ontario Convention Center, and the Neon-Con GT (both systems) on November 6th to the 7th at the Tropicana in Los Vegas. Both of those events will award Indy Finals Invite tickets to the overall and best general winners.

Will the Slaughter in August use the new edition? I'm just making sure cause I might actually play in it if 8th gets me back into fantasy

Yes the Slaughter will be 8th edition. The points might be upped to 3k, depending on how drastic GW alters the core rules (they are pushing for 3k, based on my inside information).
