Subject: Digital camera recomendations?

So, I need a new cam. I havent shopped for, or kept up with anything to do with digital photography for about 5 years now. I thought picking a decent cam would be easy.....but there are sooooo many out now its a bit bewildering.
So, I dont need anything fancy, just something that will do good macro shots, and video would be nice in case I get motivated to put up some tutorials.
Anyone have some suggestions? My budget is 200$ tops, and the lower the cost the more figs I can buy with the rest

Woo! hiyo i can help for this department :3
Yep all the current digi cams are more or less the same , and they fall into the price range of:
($90-$130) Depending on brand
($150-$190) Just more mega pixel.
I have tried taking pics of minis on different types of camera and here is what i think.
The mega pixels honestly doesnt matter for us. Because unless we are using the full blown picture of 3mb size,
there is no visual difference our eyes can detect since we always resize them.
As long as it has Macro , range finder , image stabilizer , you'll be fine no matter what price they are at.
Well it doesnt hurt to have a LCD that you can actually see clear enough to see if its focused or not.
Because sometimes range finder + face detection confuses the camera and they dunno what they are taking pics of
then its up to us to adjust it.
Personally i have always used Cannon series and loved it.
The major factor in me taking a pic is always the light , that counts for more than anything.
Anything else just let me know!

Whatever you get, make sure you get a tripod. Those things are just so darn handy.

Yeah, I have 2 full size tripods, and an armature for taking macros on my desk. So all set there
It kinda frustrating, as various sites all seem to contradict eachother- which gets tedious.
Maybe I'll just look for a used cheapie on ebay

I have a Sanyo VPC-E870. They prolly don't make it anymore, but it has served me faithfully for the past 2 years. And it is more the operator than the equipment. I've learned to make adjustments, and my photo quality has has increased tenfold from a year ago.

Noooooooooooooo never trust sensitive electronic items to be sold from ebay , its too risky!
This one looks good http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-A495-2-5-Inch-Red/dp/B0032JRRY8/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=photo&qid=1273186570&sr=1-32

Im actually looking at an ebay seller thats a camera retailer- 410,000 postitives tells me they gotta be pretty legit. They also list detailed specs, including the actual macro focus range, which is a huge help.
I might be able to sneak a pretty good deal in too
