The orks win the roll and decide to go first. It's an ideal mission and deployment for a footslogging list. The orks deploy slightly left of their center with each large mob heading towards an objective. The gretchin sit on an objective and both units of lootas go into the same ruin. One kopta goes on each flank.
The Blood Angels deploy on their left, reserving one of the razorbacks.
Scout moves for the Baals are declined so the deff koptas turbo-boost up. The BAs fail to seize, beers are cracked and the game begins.
T1
Orks
The koptas manage to stun a baal but the lootas perform excellently dropping one razorback and stunning a second baal. A few kans get in range of a vindicator and manage to stun it. In the assault phase one kopta immobilizes a vindicator and the other kopta immobilizes the stunned baal.
BA
The withering fire from the orks has prevented 1/2 the
BA from shooting during their T1. In response the
LR powers forward 12" and disgorges the assault terminators. The one baal that can shoot kills a deff kopta and the other las razorback destroys a kan. The tactical squad from the destroyed razorback shoots at a kopta and inflicts a wound. In the assault phase the squad hits and wipes the kopta, while the terminators charge a unit of kans. The dice favor the killa kans in the assault--two kans are wrecked, but the BAs lose two terminators (1
TH/1
LC).
T2
Orks
The mob on the ork left continues to run across the table. It has secured one objective and is heading to an objective near the
BA zone with the potential to bridge between both objectives. The middle ork mob secures an objective and mills around behind two units of kans engaged in shooting. The right mob of boyz moves to counter-assault the terminators. The shooting phase sees many more stunned/shaken results against
BA vehicles. Most importantly, the lootas wreck a second razorback. In the assault phase the
LC termie fails to destroy the kan and the boyz and kan then wipe the terminators. Two kans charge the
LR but only stun it.
BA
The
LR tank shocks forward into the ruin holding the lootas and gretchin. It falls just short but manages to kill eight boyz from the terminator assault with a flamer. The
HB razorback comes on and drives up the
BA left. The immobilized baal starts plunking some boyz from the ork right mob. Other baal shooting manages to damage a kan and wreck another.
T3
Orks
The left ork mob runs ahead and is now holding two objectives. The center mob moves forward is securing a third objective. The right hand mob moves to assault the
LR, as does a single Kan and a unit of two kans. In the shooting phase a unit of kans stuns the mobile vindicator and the lootas shake one of the baals. In the assault phase three kans and a nob with a powerklaw assault the
LR. They need sixs to hit and...
After the dust settles the
LR has lost three weapons: both flamers and its assault canon. Damn these things can take a beating!
BA
The
LR tank shocks the gretchin, lootas, and boyz and everyone passes their morale checks. The surviving razorback heads up the table edge and will be able to join up with the
LR next turn. A baal wrecks a kan and the immobilized vindicator discovers that some boyz have wandered into range; it kills a half-dozen or so. The immobilized baal kills about a half-dozen boys on the ork left squad.
T4
Orks
One kan continues to chase the
LR; a single surviving kan from another unit heads to interdict the last razorback. The three-strong unit of kans heads over to the mobile vindicator. The boyz on the right chase the
LR and the other two squads continue forward. In the shooting phase the lootas try to pop the razorback but only stun it. Other kans shoot at and fail to damage the vindicator, but have great luck in the assault phase and destroy it. The
LR survives the assault of a kan and nob without a scratch.
BA
The
LR continues to tank shock lootas and gretchin but the fails to rout anyone. The immobilized vindiator pie-plates another half-dozen boyz and the two baals whittle down the ork left squad to nine. They pass their morale test and are then assaulted by five marines. The
BA dice remain tepid and although the BAs win the assault by 2 wounds the orks roll a 5 and stay stuck in.
T5
Orks
The remaining large unit of kans moves towards the immobilized baal to try to support the boyz engaged with the marines. The center boyz squad moves up to potentially secure a second objective now that the
LR is contesting one on the ork left and the ork right has been whittled down and assaulted. Shooting stuns a healthy baal and immobilizes the razorback on the ork right. The kans and boyz in the middle assault and explode a the immobilized baal. The orks manage to draw the combat with the marines from the previous turn. One marine is left and a nob and boy for the orks.
BA
The
LR continues to tank shock and herd the gretchin. The tactical squad gets out of its immobilized razorback and moves towards the
LR/gretchin/lootas objective. The immobilized vindicator and a baal reduce the boyz mob on the right to about four--they pass morale.

Orks
Shooting from the orks damages the last baal. It is then charged by kans and exploded. The center mob controls two objectives and the orks try to move the gretchin to control a third but are obstructed by the
LR.
BA
It will be tight for the marines. The orks hold two objectives outright. The marines have two tactical squads left. One is holding an objective in their backfield. The other moves towards the last remaining member of the boyz mob on the ork right--a wounded nob. The marines assault and wipe the nob. A decent consolidation roll will put them on the objective that the
LR has been harassing since T2. The die is dropped...
A 1. Too far out!
The games ends 2 to 1 objectives in favor of the orks.
Tactical reflections:
Five objective mission and a deployment that suited the ork list nicely. Nine-strong loota squads and the deff koptas paid dividends by stunning/shaking vehicles every turn.
