Hi everyone. A lot of you will have seen my Sons of Orar army blog on which I occasionally post pics of my single miniatures and GD entry progress. As it is the blog about the progress of the army I’ve decided to keep it that way and make another blog especially for my single miniatures. And here it is.

First here are some pics of my single minis I’ve done since I was about 14.


This was my first attempt at a really nice 40K figure I painted when I was about 14

My GD 2009 entry which finalised in the single miniature category. I changed the head shortly before the competition. It’s also the first Sons of Orar space marine I ever painted: D

I've taken a break from serious detailed painting for the last couple of months but it’s now time to start some work for GD 2010! Well I started some time ago actually but anyway... I’m entering the diorama category this year but I’m not going to tell you my plans for the finished thing at the moment... you'll have to work it out as I go


Early stages of painting the librarian. His left eye really needs to be tidied up as it’s a total mess as you can see :(


As he is now. The eye still isn't sorted. I had a go at a bit of light effect from the hood. I’ve never tried it before so if you've got light effect tips feel free to let me know

All plastic and wire parts roughly fixed in place ready for greenstuffing and plasticard pieces.

Really like it, but would you be kind enough to post the techniques you did along the way because that would make this Alot more interesting to read and reply to ^_^

Looking good. I agree with the post above. I would love to know how you did all of this. So I might do it myself.(Or try to anyway.)

Im glad Im a bit further ahead than you with my librarian, cuz I want to try and get mine finished when you do. Yours will of course be better but its the motovation that I need as I dont devote enough time :p

Your early models are amazing, never mind the recent ones, I'm also loving the early stages of your librarian looks fantastic

The lighting looks great, and that mini you painted when you were 15, wow...It would take me years to even gt close to that but by then I'd be 17 :O Its brilliant!

I'm definitely happy to put up some techniques for you so you can have a go at copying. I’ll be updating the blog regularly over the summer. But I have AS exams at the moment. The last one is on the 9th of June so all go up until then...

This was a quick update but once they're over I’ll have more time to paint and there'll be more pictures and explanations.
