to see they have announced that they are working on Shogun 2: Total war wit ha nice little video.

Here's hoping that they dont screw this second version up like they did with medieval 2 : Total war !!

Should be very exciting if it's anything like the first one.

Looks interesting.

Not sure where they can take the idea of scale from now - will they just have to make the world map a HUGE version of Japan? Or will there be facets of China/Korea in there as well?

Personally I can't think of a way that would carry on the series, taking into mind the technological leaps they had with Napoleon/Empire, and still condense it into a satisfying space.

Also, does anyone better versed in such History know around when this would be set? Maybe there would be some... ahem... colonial intrusion? If it's the 1800s that would float my boat.

I'm still waiting for Victoria: Total War. And I want to retake Afghanistan (because it's the coolest military campaign in history) and then siege Sevastopol with 30pdr. Naval Guns.

You've gotta give them some credit. Shogun 2 is likely to be pretty fantastic. I'm less confident about a possible Rome 2, as the first one was just that good anyway. Even so, I'll only get really annoyed when they start slamming out 3's...

This bit from E3 came out about Shogun 2.

The review gives nice info and the Joe guy interviewing the CA developer has obviously played Total War. There are 2 vids on the page if you're interested.

I'm very happy it'll be Shogun. I also agree Rome 2 needs to be next.
