mm, looking at the list I see a lot of big units. is there a area you want to really be king of or do you want a list with some shooting and some cc??

Also if taking winterguard then always try to include the kovnik for them. he is that good!! IMHO better than adding the rocketeers...

Can't say anything else about this list as I do not know Strakhov's stats and abilities...

Probably not a good idea to post rules verbatum, you know intellectual property rights and all.

As for the list, the melee capabilities just don't seem that threatening. For that matter neither does the ranged capabilities. The list just seems a little disjointed. For a caster like strakhov where your threat ranges can go so much higher on his feat turn while charging, a melee-centric list is probably your best bet. Some range is good to have around, but you've got alot of speed especially when using spells like superiority and overrun. A jack with reach like Beast 09 can hit targets 21" away if the circumstances allow and 15" away just on a regular charge. With that in mind, a nice fast shieldwall with reach like the ironfangs seems like they'll do pretty well.

Some units that would go well in a Strakhov list:

Beast 09- He's a beast, but more importantly has reach and a built-in ability that makes opponents leary of shooting at him

Fenris- Hits like a truck and with an expanded threat range will be almost impossible for an opponent to avoid getting charged by

Doom Reavers- Relatively inexpensive Weapon Masters with Reach who's threat range goes up to a manly 15" on the feat turn

Winterguard Rifle Corps- If you're looking for ranged support the extra 6" of range these guys have over the regular Winterguard mean they can still be useful into the feat turn instead of simply being left in the army's dust. As with all winterguard Kovnik Joe is a must


You can't go wrong with any of these units in a Strakhov list.

You probably want to remove the exact stats and just list the names of his abilities and spells. For most this is enough to understand the charactyer. I also did not mean to make you post stats, just to let you know I don't know strakhov...

As for the second list, I would take a extra jack. you do a lot for jacks, as you could cycle superiority. Besides it is an extra arm 20 or more. I think it would be better then the riflecorps in this list... (and if they go, jozef also goes)

I think a Kodiak would be nice, as he can run for free...

just an option, as IMHO it is a tad too much units...
