I play retribution, half my games are against a guy that plays circle, whenever i play against a war machine army i do better then when i play against hordes. is this just a coincidence or does retribution have a hard time against hordes?


P.S Some tips against circle would be greatly appreciated.

If he's playing Legion, they have Eyeless Sight, so they can see through forests and units like striders have the Hunter Ability, so they can as well. In general though unless they're packing one of those two abilities or something similar, they do need to see you, so if you're more than 3" in he can't charge.

There are several options in Circle to allow charging without LoS to the target: eKaya's Dog Pile, Reeves, Wolf Riders and war wolf have Hunter, Ravagers have Treewalker. So it is possible that he could have charged through the forest without any trouble.

How are you losing? If you're having trouble with Assassination runs, then
just remember to kill the beasts first.

+1. Vs Hordes you can't let him shunt his damage to the beasts. So you have to kill them first.

Invictors are the shooty ones, right? Do they Combined Range Attack?

Personally, vs Hordes, I concentrate force on a Beast until it is dead, move on to next. Rinse, repeat.
I don't like putting a couple points somewhere and then they just heal it up.

Also, if they are leaning on a particular Animus that a beast has, killing that beast changes their game.
