Krayes special rules and spells almost demand to have one melee heavy like the stormclad, hammersmith, or the Iron clad. The lancer won't do you alot of good with kraye it's main purpose is to be an arc node and kraye only has 1 offensive spell and not a great one at that. The sentinel is fine it works great with his guided fire spell. Another neat idea is to take a cyclone it is actually decent in melee with 2 str 12 fists but where it shines is it's twin d3 shot guns and with krayes spell guided fire all of those attacks are boosted this can mow through a unit of high defense infantry like no bodies business or really mess up a light jack. The cyclone at this point level is kind of pricey. Storm blades are just crazy good at mopping up infantry or denting jacks. Trenchers are kind of iffy to me long gunners are going to do a better job at greater distance.

This is kind of my take on a Kraye list at 15 points
Captain Jeremiah Kraye
Hunter
Ironclad
Stormblade Infantry (Leader and 5 Grunts)
Stormblade Infantry Officer & Standard
Here is why:
the hunter is deceptively powerful its gun has armor piercing which halves its targets armor when calculating damage (only on medium and large based models) if you give it two focus you can boost the attack roll and damage roll which gives almost a guaranteed chance to hit and you are dealing 6+ 3d6 damage to a target minus half its armor.
Ironclad is a cheap and effective beat stick. Kraye gives it cavalry rules soit get impacts hits as well as his spell full tilt allows it to charge 13" into combat
Stormblades are good but with their Unit attachment they are incredible, every swing generates an aoe as well as assault order allows them to shoot before engaging in hand to hand.
This will offer you melee flexibility as well as good ranged support.
this is my take on Kraye I have never played him before also he seems very jack centric I would almost say run several melee or ranged/melee(hunter, sentinile, cyclone, defender) jacks with him

When it comes to Kraye, remember the fact that his 'jacks act as cavalry. This means that light jacks can move / shoot / move, and heavy jacks can impact attack. Both get +2 to melee attack rolls on charges.
The first jacks I look to when I look at Kraye are:
1) The Sentinel. It has shield guard, which is very, very nice when your caster is a lowish def large based model in a faction without very many large bases. the Chain Gun pairs very nicely with guided fire when shooting at infantry (though your opponent can spread out to avoid the strafe shots).
2) The Charger. Super versatile light jack. Need to kill some light infantry? Drop 1 focus on it and shoot twice with guided fire in play. Need to kill a solo? Drop 1 focus on it and use powerful shot to boost both the attack and damage roll. Have a bead on the enemy caster without focus? Drop 3 focus on it and shoot twice with boosted attack and damage rolls.
3) The Iron Clad. You need a jack to use with full throttle -- why not use the cheapest heavy jack available to Cygnar? Mat 7 is a nice bonus and on the feat turn means you'll hit essentially anything you want on the charge. Mix in full throttle and you're looking at a 13.5" threat on a normal turn and a 15.5" threat on the feat turn.
For units, especially on the smaller game sizes, I like Sword Knights. They flank with cygnar jacks, gaining +2 to attack rolls and an extra die on damage rolls when attacking models that are engaged by a cygnar warjack. Considering that your light jacks can move / shoot / move, you can advance the light, shoot something juicy, then move again to engage another target. Then you can charge that target with the Sword Knights -- you'll be more accurate than Storm Blades, deal a similar amount of damage, and you get more guys for fewer points.
Thus, for 15 point Kraye, I'd run:
Kraye
^Sentinel
^Charger
^Iron Clad
10x Sword Knights
As a side benefit, the Charger and the Iron Clad come from the starter box, so you can pick that up and save some money. You'll also pickup Commander Stryker and a Lancer , both of which you'll likely use in the not too distant future.

Not really a huge fan of the Charger with Kraye. Since you're getting autoboosted attack rolls from Guided Fire, the focus efficiency of Powerful Attack gets wasted. Unless you're shooting at squishy targets, it's still going to want the full 3 focus to play with.
The Sentinel and its bigger brother the Cyclone are both great choices with Kraye. The sheer volume of shots they put out makes Guided Fire stupidly efficient, and the Cyclone hits like a half dozen handcannons. The Hunter and Defender are also great choices: While they lack the withering rate of fire that the chain gun jacks have, they hit stupidly hard from a stupidly long range. Finally, I'm a great fan of the Thunderhead with Kraye, as Guided Fire makes its electropurge ridiculously good at clearing infantry swarms. Obviously, your ranged jacks will benefit best from Guided Fire when you've got a lot of them, so the more the merrier.
For your single melee 'jack, I'm personally a fan of the formerly-maligned Stormclad. With a 17" threat range on feat turn, it's great for assassination runs, and has a nice ranged attack and electroleap for clearing infantry.
