I am fairly new to WM with approx 10 games under my belt, I have finally found a list that I think fits me while being both competative and fun to play, let me know what you think.

So the Freebooters are both marshaled by the Devil Dogs, and the other three by montador. The idea is to move forward until montador is only maybe 18 inches at the most from enamy caster, then use the bucc's to knock down some of his front line, and run montador up and feat, then use the mariner and the cutthroats for caster kill over the knocked down front line. Let me know what you guys think, if there is a unit you think is a better fit, or any real weaknesses you see ( except immunity to knockdown). Thanks

I have been told that the Mule works better with Bart than the Mariner.

But I have not investigated the claim.

You really should only marshal one Freebooter to the Devil Dogs. You can only give out one boost IIRC.

Plus another unit or some solos wouldn't hurt.

Yeah, since Bart is pumping out the shots you are going to crit more, so using at least one Mule is well advised. I'd drop a freebooter and croes to fit a Mule and Dougal McNail. And maybe even something else given the cost of Croes.

Yes, Croe is overpriced for their impact in game.

Dougal is a good choice with multiple shootyness.

Maybe take a unit of Sea Dogs or Steelheads.

I understand if you only have certain models to take. Croe's may be the only choice you have.

I would drop the cutthroats and go with Sam and the devil dogs, more knockdown goodies and a strong jackmarshall.

/me notes that he's already using Sam...

I'm actually a big fan of Croe's. Not really ideal for Warmachine games, but against Hordes Poison makes them great for taking down warbeasts, while Bushwhack lets them get away after taking the shot. Their low accuracy doesn't hurt as much when your target is ten feet tall, either.
