Hey guys, just started warmachine, I got the Proctectorate of Menoth Battle group and me likey. I'm thinking I'll buy a deckbox next and then I've also heard the choir are good? Can anybody tell me what the choir do and how many points theyre worth please. ALso if you find the card on tinternets thats great. Any other model reccomendations or anything will be accepted but my budgets not too big.
Thanks!

The Choir make your Jacks better by adding to their attack and damage rolls and shielding them from ranged attacks and spells. For now, a minimum unit of 4 will be sufficient for you so buy the Warpriest/Acolyte blister and an Acolyte/Acolyte blister. After the Choir, I would suggest a full squad of Exemplar Errants and the Errant Officer and Standard unit attachment. Then add an Exemplar Errant Seneschal solo for some added synergy with the Errant unit. This will give you a solid 25 point list that includes a warcaster and his battlegroup, a unit plus attachment and a solo. Now go forth and smite the unblievers!

So 2 choir squads and the deck would cost around £16 I think, I shall save a few weeks, . The Errants and all else seem expensive, how many points would the 4 man choir squad including warpriest cost? Because 15 points would be a decent amount to satisfy me for a while.

If you want to run at 15 points, you could run the battlegroup + full choir (warpriest and 5 acolytes) + a Vassal Mechanik; or battlegroup + min choir (warpriest and 3 acolytes) + almost any solo (Menoth or Merc) that stirkes your fancy.

Aren't you allowed to tell me single points costs or something? Also do Solos have focus?

It's generally frowned on to give out specific information on stats and point totals. Go ahead and get the deck and a rulebook if you don't already have one and stick to battlebox games while you study the rules and the cards. Solos in general do not have or use focus. Some solos (such as Menoth Wracks) invlove focus in one fashion or another.

Right I have the choice to buy crackdown 2 or some warmachine, I think I'm goign for the warmachine. If I buy 3 acolytes, 1 wwarpriest, a Flameguard cleanser unit and the reclaimer it will give me a grand total of 20 points. Is this a pretty solid competitive and fun list?

Doesn't look bad (standard Kreoss pop'n'drop, after all), but I think you'll have trouble with 'Jack heavy lists due to your lack of Exemplar and/or heavies. Depends a lot on your local meta, of course.

There are players from all hordes and all warmachine factions at my FLGS, some of which own every model in their main faction. It's simply for friendly games, we don't have tournaments although I'm thinking of setting one up. I tried to make it jacklight because a regular opponent of mine is a cryx player, and most of the time he uses that b**** unit that kills my jacks and turns them into bone chickens. But if you have a heavy you'd like to suggest I'll look it up and stuffs.

Really? Someone is wasting a Dark Industries to make a bonechicken instead of like a free Seether? I detect either a noob or one helluva tactical genius...

from light he can only make bonejacks, no helljacks. he could use the lights to make stalkers though..

If you have a heavy and they wreck it they can make a seether. Be carefull of that!! (good thing it does not get the free focus if made with Dark Industries, or it would be more uber...)

Lol yeah I suppose... I haven't actually pulled one off yet, I've only used the Combine once and the game never got finished I think.

I've only really seen the WSC get Dark Industries off once, and that was during a 200 point 8 player game, so lots of wreck markers for them to cannibalize. Lot of Seethers running around that game...

I don't suppose anyone caught that game on film?

They only create a jack if one of them causes the kill and all 3 are in melee. Has nothing to do with wreck markers.

This makes it a bit tough to pull off. I recently pulled it off, attacking a Berserker with a McThrall, and then charging with the WSC.

Scuse me, meant inert 'jacks (ima stoopid). IIRC, Mortenebra (I think it was Morty) had just killed Sloan, so her battle group was still hanging around.

The cryx players kinda wierd. He owns more casters than he does heavys, or units. Just FYI.

My order of stuff arrived at my FLGS, although some stuff came wrong, but I bought what they had anyways, I now have a 20 point list, same as before but not with 6 flameguard cleansears and the vigilante jack. The one with 2 shields. Will test it out next monday. Me thinks temple flameguard, reclaimer and choir next.
