Hi all. My family and I are getting ready to move to the Manchester, NH area, and I was wondering what groups, hobby shops or clubs were available. I mainly play 40K, but am also familiar with Flames of War, Battletech, Micro Armor (WWII) and a host of other board games. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

north of manchester or south?

I've been to Games Castle in Londonderry & was happy to play there. http://www.thegamecastle.com/

Personally, I play at the Whiz in Westborough, MA, but that's a hike from Manchester. http://www.whiznet.com/

There's other stores here & there that you can find, but those are two that I've been to.

Is the Dragon's Den still going strong out your way? I used to live in West Hurley NY, did my grad work at SUNY New Paltz & would scoot across the river to go to the Dragon's Den. Both of the above stores are bigger than the Dragon's Den & offer more tables.

Adler Hobby is in Hollis, NH near the MA/NH border. He was big into Flames of War and AT-43. I don't remember him selling GW stuff, but I could be wrong.

The Whiz is in Westborough, not Worcester. Three Trolls is in Chelmsford, MA which would be closer, but still a bit of a hike.

There is Collectibles Unlimited up in Concord NH. That was my local store back home. I was never able to try and get a game there, but they do have the stuff and am told there are a couple of regular players. Might be worth checking out. It's only about 30 min +/- depending on where in Manchester and if you take I-93 or Rt 28 to avoid the toll.

I'm currently in the Army stationed in Korea, otherwise I'd be in the area.

Thanks all. We're moving to the south-western end of Manchester, just west of 101 and 293, and just east of Anselm College, but really any local hobby shops. I don't really want to travel more than thirty minutes, but I'm willing to make exceptions depending on the group/venue. I will definitely check some of the sites and locations listed. The advantage that I'll have going forward is working regular hours like the rest of the world. I currently work evenings, and Sunday through Thursday; definitely has its advantages and disadvantages, but not being able to meet people for gaming is a big disadvantage.

@InquisitorMack: Dragon's Den is still around, and they still offer free games nights for 40K, Fantasy and Flames of War, but from what I can tell what really drives the business is Magic and the comic and video game sales. They only keep stocked the core stuff for 40K and Fantasy (even this is limited in my opinion), and FoW is non-existent. In fact, they only have a few blisters left of FoW stuff, and all of it's half-off. Plus they seem like they're constantly rotating product around the store. So when I go in, albeit not very often, it feels like I'm walking into a slightly different layout each time. They do have a fairly nice gaming area, but since I work during the times that everyone plays I'm unable to see what the crowds look like. But at the end of the day I understand that it's a business first, and you have to sell what most people want. I have to say, though, that a good place to play is ToyWiz down in Nanuet. It's right off of I-87 south, before you hit the Tapenzee Bridge. They've got a good layout, plenty of space, well stocked inventory and they run a fair amount of campaigns, tournaments, etc. You can hook up with them through their Ordo Malleus forum.

Thanks again for the help, everyone, and I hope meet some of you guys in the coming months as I check out local venues.

The Game Castle is were I play pretty much every weekend good guys and usually pretty easy to get a 40k or fantasy game. Hit me up if you want to get a game in. From were you are it is 20 min tops.

Sweet. Game Castle sounds like it may be my first stop. We're moving July 17th, so after the dust settles from that and transitioning into my new job, I'll definitely hit you guys up. What days/times do you guys normally play? I also want to make sure I'm making the rounds, though, so I also plan on checking out the other shops everyone has listed.
