Hello to everyone on Dakka Dakka.

As a long time reader of both Dakka Dakka and Bell of Lost Souls, I wanted to tell everyone in the community about a new store that’s going to be opening in Hollywood California. Dragon’s Den Games is located inside the world famous Meltdown Comics and we’ll be carrying Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, Warmachine, Hordes, Dungeons and Dragons, Ultraforge, Avatars of War, and a host of other role playing games and board games.

I really wanted to make this a store that caters to veteran gamers as well as being a place to show new people what the game’s all about. We have open gaming all the time as well as organized play on Thursdays and Sundays. My focus is on creating some awesome tables with a ton of city-fight and Planetstrike terrain in addition to some beautiful scratch builds coming soon.

We’re opening this Sunday, July 11th and are having an opening give-away to launch us off just for readers of Dakka and BOLS. Between Sunday the 11th and Saturday the 17th, every $20 you spend earns you a raffle ticket. On Sunday we’ll be drawing a first prize of any Battalion Box or Battleforce of your choice (or a Warmachine or Hordes starter box). Second Prize will be an Avatars of War miniature of your choice.

Just say “Dakka” or Bell of Lost Souls,” or “I read this thing on a forum post about some free raffle stuff,” if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.

If you’re near Hollywood, California, come by and check us out. We’ll be open every day this week from 11-9. We’re inside Meltdown Comics at 7522 Sunset Boulevard, across from Guitar Center.

Will there be tables available on Sunday?

Damn! I was just in LA for E3 a few weeks ago. Well I'll stop by next year. Of course, Erotica LA is on July 14th at the convention center. Maybe another trip is in order.... to play 40K and support a new store of course.

And yeah, there are so many tourists in town I hate not being open yet, a couple from Germany was begging to buy Eighth Edition Fantasy when they saw the shipment come in. Alas that box has to stay sealed until Saturday even if I had a cash register yet...

I work so very close to you guys...(Santa Monica & Highland), but I work Mon-Fri from 5pm to 1am so I can't imagine I could make it on Thursdays unless there is some daytime contingent (unlikely) and driving into Hollywood on Sundays from home just ain't very convenient either.

Damn.

We will always have tables open for gaming during the day and if there's no one else here, you can always beat up on the staff

That's great news- congrats on your new store opening. There are so few gaming stores in Los Angeles proper, this is nice news!! I'm out in Santa Monica, but come into Hollywood from time to time. I'd love to come by and check out the new store.

I have a business trip scheduled out in LA starting on the 16th. What luck.

I need to bolster my Cygnar army anyway. Too bad you guys don't stock any Wyrd minis. I need to aquire a bunch of the new undead models for my resurrectionist Nicodem warband.

I'm so proud. I live just down the street and had no idea except for reading it on Dakka today. I've been looking for a place to meet up and play, buy paints, etc instead of driving to glendale or westwood. This is perfect. I work till 7, so maybe I can schedule some quick after-work games.. or maybe a big sunday game.

How is the parking in that area?

Parking is doable but not fantastic.

I live a bit outside of LA, but I really like taking the train to Hollywood from pasadena. I think the closest stop is at Hollywood and Highland. A little trek wouldn't be that bad.

Hoping to get to the shop in the early afternoon. Lol, my gf's face is going to be priceless when she realizes why we are going out there tomorrow.

Taking the train would solve the parking but I don't see myself taking my army on the train.

Hey guys we had a great opening day. The street parking isn't as bad where we are, check on the two side streets, as long as it's not street sweeping time, there should be some spots (and a failed meter in the back lot if you're lucky).

Raffle tickets all week until Saturday night. Sunday I'll call the winner to pick up their loot.

I actually visited the store Sunday. Parking wasn't too bad, and I had a really good time. The guys running the Warhammer section were really nice and helpful. Too bad I didn't really need to pick up anything at the store.

The store was pretty sweet. Lots of nicely painted minis on display, good selection of 40k + fantasy for the space provided. Big table to play on, looking forward to playing there soon.
