I have been playing Blood Bowl on the 360, but its just not the same as table top, as I'm sure you all know. I have never played the table top version, yet I have three teams waiting to be played. There are a few players in my local gaming club who also have teams, and I think if I am going to get to play I will have to start a season of my own. Does anybody have, or know of, a season template or rule set so I may start a successful league?

The Living Rulebooko 6 has the basics of running a season. If you want a program that does all the work for you, register with the NAF website. You get a free Season tracker for being a commissioner if you're interested in running a league... As well as team trackers.

Oh, and a set of nifty blue block dice for this year.

Organise when the season begins and ends, say 3 months roughly if you wanted a semi short first 'practise season'

Decide on how you want games sorted. is it going to be open challanges and if people decline games they count as losing, also put in a rule you can't play the same person twice in a row to stop people picking the same opponents.

Should be the season sorted.

Sit back and play and people can organise their games vs those their able to play that week, keep score of the games and put a league table up. end of season play offs if you want.

Check theese guys out.http://ecbbl.doubleskulls.net/index.php,also known as Edinboro castle bloodbowl league the site is great! also they have lots of exra teams and also a team creator software. as for starting a league just use the crappy pdf. It has the league rules you need.I just bought a softback rulebook.there are a few places you can purchase one ,Gator games, chaos orc superstore. They have a good selection of books that are out of print. Also this week gw brought back a couple of star players rantut the III, zara the slayer. They are great big guy for the undead awesome strength, zara stab stab.Funny i just seen ramtut being sold for75$$ on feebay. For our league i just started we are big on the star players so we decided on giving everybody 400k to spend and once purchased they stay with your team.Until death or team disbands.Yes i my self deciede to go back to bloodbowl after a ten year hiatus. the video game really help us go back to playing. also one good thing about the video game is that it really helps the new players with strategy and dice rolling, tactics and skills. But now everybody loves the board game. They got sick of the pc ripping everbody off. example how in the f@#$n h#$% Griff oberwald on rolls of two not pick up the ball after 5 tries. hes a darn star player the main guy for the humans. now i know why everbody in our league wants me to hack are games for better dice rolls. Also check out my atricle its here on dakka. we have a stadium built. Just i have alot of teams and little time to paint im averaging a team every two weeks. if you have any more questions feel free to lave a message for my in my article spot.

When I used to run a local league, here's the basics of how we did things.

At the beginning of the season, a length(in weeks) for the regular season was decided. Generally, we played 6-10 weeks with a 3 week playoff to follow. Each week, a team could play up to 3 games. Both players had to submit the results of the game to the comissioner by the end of the week(score, SPPs earned, casualties). At the end of the season, the top 8 teams(based first on win percentage, then average points for, then points against, then casualties) advanced to playoffs. To qualify for the playoffs, a team needed at least 1 game per week(so, in a 6 week season, anyone with less than 6 games played was out). Single elimination tourney played over three weeks for the playoffs.

I think our biggest season was @ 15 teams and this format worked well. Players could play games any time or place they liked, but I hosted a weekly BB night at my place with space for 5 games at once.

We all love getting gallery votes...

Looks pretty good dude. If you want some guidelines, here are the league rules for the last league I played in.
NBBL League House Rules

The league commissioner is XXXXXXXX; the assistant commissioner is XXXXXXXX. They are collectively known as the “Commissioners”.

All rules will be taken from the Living Rule Book Version 6.0 Blood Bowl Competition Rules (download from Games Workshop Online Specialist Games Section), known from here on in as BBCR, unless they are superseded by the rules in this document.

Creating a Team

• All teams must be created using the rules on pages 16-17 of the BBCR using a treasury of 1,000,000 gold.

• Coaches should use the Excel Team Roster (aroteamroster) from the NAF website if possible.

• All Teams start with 5 Fan Factor at no cost. You cannot purchase Fan Factor during team creation. Fan Factor never adds to a team’s value and changes in Fan Factor from Post-game rolls do not affect Team value.

• All teams must have a unique team name and all players must be named (on the roster) and numbered (somewhere on the model/base). The number on the miniature must match the player name/number on the roster.

• Players must complete a team roster and ask the league commissioner or assistant commissioner to check it. Once this has been done the team is considered to ready to play.

Player statistics

• It is the responsibility of the Coaches to keep track of their Team Rosters. This includes their Wins/Losses earned Star Player points and current team value.

• The League Commissioners reserve the right to inspect team rosters and make any changes they feel necessary to maintain the integrity of the league. Players caught falsifying their Team Rosters will be ejected from the league and ridiculed for being a colossal douche.

• All Team Rosters should be submitted to the Commissioners every Sunday by midnight. Use of the electronic Team Roster is the preferred format for submission. Statistics will be updated and posted every Monday on the Official League Site. Failure to submit Roster Sheets for review will result in a loss of Fan Factor and further action may be taken.

League Match Rules

The following rules will be in effect for all League matches.

• The League rules from pages 20-29 in the BBCR are in effect unless over ridden by this document.

Schedule

• The first three matches a Team plays in a week are considered to be their League matches and are recorded for league standings.

o No Team may play more than 3 league matches a week (Monday- Sunday).

o Any Matches in excess of the 3 league matches are considered Exhibition Matches and no stats are recorded for these matches, no star player points are awarded and Injuries will have no effect (Injuries incurred from previous games are ignored for Exhibition Matches and Exhibition Matches will not count towards missed games incurred upon players.)

o Regardless of how many games an opponent has played that week if either player is playing an Exhibition Match than the match counts as an Exhibition Match for both players.

o No Team may play another Team more than twice in a row.

• The Year will be divided into 4 Seasons. Each season is three months long. Each Season will culminate in an tournament. The first Tournament will be held the week of starting May 24th and running until the end of the week with the final game being played on Sunday May 31st. Participation in the tournament is optional. Coaches are not required to play in a tournament.

o Players are encouraged to play as many games as possible within the limits above to develop their team for the season ending tournament.

o At the end of the each season, before the start of the tournament, several Awards will be presented.

Best Team: Awarded to the team with the Highest Team Rating.
Best Coach: Awarded to the Team with the best Win/Loss record.
Best Player: Awarded to the player with the most Star Player Points.
Most Deadly: Awarded to the player who caused the most casualties.
Worst Player: Awarded to the player who played the most games, and managed to earn the least amount of Star Player Points.
Most Hated Player: Voted on by all the Coaches.

• Rules for each tournament will vary. They will be posted for Coaches to review two weeks prior to the commencement of the Tournament.

Presentation

• All Teams should be painted and based to a minimum basic standard: normally three colours and based. Players should be numbered in some way (either on the model or on the base) to correspond with their place on the team roster.

o Each model placed on the field that does not meet the minimum standard will result in a +1 temporary Fan Factor modifier to the opposing team for the duration of the match. What fan would ever cheer for an unpainted player?

• While all teams must be named and players named and numbered, players are also encouraged to come up with a theme for their team and play their games to that theme.

Rules Disputes/Sportsmanship

• Any rules disputes should be resolved between the players involved to the best of their abilities. If immediately available the commissioners should be advised otherwise please advise the commissioners of the issues so they can provide a ruling for the league.

o All decisions made by the Commissioners are final. They rule with an iron fist.

• While trash talk is encouraged – in fact, if you don’t trash talk the Commissioners will boo and ridicule you until their throats are sore – players are reminded that ultimately this is a game that is meant to be fun. Personal attacks will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion from the league.

Inducements
• Determine MVPs randomly. MVP’s are awarded only to a player on the team that played in at least one drive, was not induced and did not roll a “Dead” result on the casualty table.

• Star Players are disallowed in regular league play. Feel free to use them in Exhibition Matches. Star Players might make appearances as Inducements in Tournaments depending on the Tournament rules.

• All four Special Play Card Decks are in effect as Inducements for all League Games. Players are required to provide their own decks. A regular deck of cards is all that is necessary.

Challenges

It is possible that players may refuse to play against a certain team. In order to prevent the situation were a player can’t get a game for whatever reason a player has the right to issue formal challenges.

Once per calendar month a player may formally challenge a single opponent to a match. This must be done by notifying the commissioner or assistant commissioner of your intention to issue a challenge and which player you are challenging. The challenged player has the following options.

1. Play a match against the player who has challenged them within 2 weeks.

2. Find another player to substitute for them who is willing to play the player who issued the challenge.

3. Refuse the challenge. If a player refuses a challenge then their teams fan factor becomes 0 and 1 player (chosen at random) is removed from the team’s roster. They quit in disgust.

Retiring Teams

If a player wishes to create a new team of the same race as an existing team they own then the original team must be retired. To retire a team the player must hand their team roster over to the league commissioner or assistant commissioner and inform them that the team is retiring. Once a team has retired it cannot play any more games.

A final note on rules

These rules are a starting point for this league. As the league runs on situations may occur that require new rules to be added to this document. The league commissioner will inform all players if this occurs.
For any situation not covered in these rules please contact the league commissioner or assistant commissioner immediately for advice.

We also had some league specific rules for playing in the Six Cities of Naggaroth.

Optional League Rule

The Six Cities

As part of the pre-match sequence before rolling for the Gate players may choose to roll on the following table to see what city in Naggaroth they are playing the game in. This is optional and players should feel free to skip this if they wish.

Roll a D6
1: Naggarond: the Tower of Cold, Dark Elf capital and seat of the Witch King.
• The big show! Malekith likes his Blood Bowl and he likes it to be bloody. No player on either team will be called for making a Foul when they roll doubles. In addition, 2 Star Player Points are earned for any Casualty (including injuries inflicted by the crowd or from attacks with chainsaws, bombs or the stab skill) when playing in this city.

2: Ghrond: the North Tower where the sorceresses study the Realm of Chaos.
• The sorceresses are eager to participate in the sport in their own special way. Each coach may add a free Wizard Inducement for this match (page 70 LRBv6).

3: Karond Kar: the Tower of Despair, largest slave port of the Dark Elves.
• Last Chance: Under the watchful gaze of the Slave Masters, players know all too well what awaits those who fail. Once per Half a player may use a Team Re-roll to Re-roll a die roll that has already been Re-rolled. This allows up to two Re-rolls to be used in a single turn, but only for a roll that has already been failed twice.

4: Hag Graef: the Dark Crag which is never touched by the sun's rays.
• Modify rolls on the weather table as such
3-5: It’s Really Dark: Only short passes are possible. No player can see more than five squares in any direction. Blitzes cannot be called on opposing players outside of this range.
6-10 Nice: Perfect Blood Bowl Weather.

5: Har Ganeth: the City of Executioners and religious capital of Cult of Khaine.
• It’s “Free Great Weapon Giveaway Day”. The audience is armed even more heavily than normal. Any player pushed into the audience will add +2 to their injury roll. The player that made the block that caused the opponent to enter the crowd may earn Star Player Points if a Casualty is inflicted.

6: Clar Karond: the Tower of Doom and largest Dark Elf shipyard.
• The massive Dark Elf fleet brings in treasure plundered from around the world. Each coach may draw a single card from the Magic Item deck and add it to their Inducements for the match for free.

That might be of more help?
