So I am planning on starting up hordes when the new book is released.

Does anyone know if the new faction books planning on being released at the same time as the main rulebook.
Also, I heard before they use to be free downloads. Does anyone know if that is happening again or will I have to purchase them?

The books will release one per month, starting with the Skorne book in August, then the other, lesser factions.

Hordes quickstart rules are here. If you're referring to the Field Test, it's been pulled. It's also outdated and subject to a rather lot of changes (see the new faction decks for exact details), so useless anyhow.

So there is no real way to play as the other factions until their books are released?

Or is there test rules or something out there?

The 'codex' for every army is the stat cards, and I think the Hordes faction decks are out already.

Models come with cards with all their stats and special rules on them. If you buy stuff, check with your shop to make sure it has the new cards packed in.

If you need to see the stats of everything before you buy the models, and you have no other way to do so, just get the Faction Card Deck, v2010, for the faction you think you might be interested in and you'll have all the model specific rules for all of the old models. Note that the decks do not contain the latest released models (from the last couple months) though.

If you can wait a couple weeks, the new core book Hordes: Primal MKII will be released and that will give you access to the first 1/3rd of the models for the entire Hordes range. After that, the faction books will be released at a rate of ~1 per month.

minions Book will be the last faction, and thats new as thats never happened before(their own faction...Warmachine mercs don't count!)
