Ahhh i play HoN which is based off dota and tons of fun!

LoL isn't as fast paced or brutal as DotA. The made it a bit tamer this time around. If you want the same kinda of gameplay as DotA then you should play Heroes of Newerth. Currently thats the one I'm playing and S2 (the company that made it) generally had great community support and on going game support. For example two new heroes were added in the last 4 weeks and more are on the way.

LoL is based on Dota and some of the developers were the developers for Dota. If you think LoL isnt fast paced, then you havent played it enough. It gets extremely fast towards mid-late game. Riot is doing an amazing job in developing new content literally every few weeks. It is amazing seeing as how it is a completely free game. They stay afloat on partnerships and putting out special fluff content that people actually want to buy.

HoN is not good, it may be one day, but it needs alot of work to be on par with LoL. LoL on the other hand, has zero faults. There is literally nothing Riot can do with that game to make it better except for the content they are already working on.

I disagree the community is full of elitists arseholes and if you don't have the latest version they boot you while you're downloading, automatically assuming you're a noob. Also LoL is more

beginner friendly but still maintains the ferocity and intensity of the original game.
