You are correct. If you re-read your original post, I think you'll see why.

You've asked a challenging question. LotR minis aren't detailed in the way an Inquisitor, for example, or a veteran Terminator, is. I've given it some thought, and I think that Theoden or Eomer are the most detailed, followed by Gimil, Imrahil, and Gil-Galad. That is, I think those are the figures with the most detail molded on already. Oh, wait, can't forget Treebeard.

Other figures have less detail molded on, but offer more scope for you to add details with your brush. Sauruman and Gandalf the White, for example, give you the chance to got to town with brocades, never mind that white by itself is a challenging color to paint well.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Here's mu suggestions for most detailed models. personally I think its the Khandish King in Chariot, and the Winged Nazgul looks great though isn't very detailed. All seem pretty good.

The Golden King of Harad
Suladan, The Serpent Lord Foot and Mounted
Mahud King Foot and Mounted
Khandish King in Chariot
Winged Nazgûl
Eomer Foot and Mounted
Erkenbrand Foot and Mounted
Aragorn the King of Gondor Foot and Mounted
Isildur Foot and Mounted
Elf Captains
Thranduil, King of Mirkwood

Man. I can't believe I forgot the Khandish King and Suladan. I've painted both, too.

The Khandish King in the chariot is one of my favorite GW figures, bar none.
