Hi All,
My 3rd edition question is: Can a model spend his last 2 AP and go on Overwatch and now be allowed to shoot at a door using 1 CP and destroy the door which then exposes a Blip? Is he still on overwatch? can he now shoot at the bugs?
Thanks for any help.

Unless you're playing against a rules Nazi there is no reason explicit in the text that would prevent you spend additional points on shooting at the door, even while on overwatch.
However please note that overwatch fire is only triggered if a genestealer moves. If they are simply revealed by the destruction of the door and DO NOTHING, then no, the Marine cannot start using overwatch fire on the bugs (until they move). But if you have more Command Points available after the door is destroyed, sure, why not spend them on firing? Unless you are playing against a rules Nazi, (who might try and make the case that you lose overwatch after firing. Don't play against this person again).

Excuse me, but if you take an action, you lose OW. "Overwatch Actions" on page 13, "If a Space Marine is attacked in close assault or performs any action (other than clearing a jam) he immediately loses his overwatch status." Who are you calling a Nazi?

This is almost exactly what I was talking about. If I was playing someone and they put their marine on overwatch and then said: "Oh actually I have a CP remaining, can I use it to blow away that door?" I would have to be FOLLOWING THE FORUM POSTING RULES to say: "Sure, if you're willing to lose overwatch for the privilege."
But yes, technically, the rules would support the rules Nazi (as they always, do, damnit!)

Those are the rules! He was asking about what he can do, not what he'd get away with in a friendly/roleplaying game. I appreciate what you're saying, but by your logic I can call you a Nazi for not just mashing the miniatures together and saying 'you're dead'. You lose overwatch if you take another action. It is a part of the game to be taken into account, just as every other rule. If you use that command point on a Marine already in overwatch since last player turn, he is doing something other than being on overwatch. You have decided to change what you are doing. I quoted you saying that there is no explicit reason in the text, and then I presented that very text so that you would be informed and not make the mistake again. Deliberate circumvention of the language filter is also against the rules, and I would advise that you pick up on the forum posting guidelines. Here's a hint. They aren't guidelines.
