Your first link doesn't work.
Eh... another post apoc style skirmish game from the looks of it. The market is pretty saturated with them, and there's nothing about the art, look & feel of the game that is appealing beyond any number of its competitors.
So, not really GW level competition, except maybe for necromunda. It looks like it's more a boardgame, with terrain/board tiles you place down.

Sorry about the link Vertrucio. Try the one below.
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/73171/earth-reborn
This one does look slightly different. The Tertris map system means replayability and flexibility as opposed to a lot of the fixed boards out there. The minis also look excellent quality and their stat cards suggest a lot could be going on in the game. They also seem to have a novel facing system on the base of the minis. I am also interested in the interupt/bluff, radio scrambling and order tiles sytem. It also appears to integrate a command points system. Sure it could be a donkey but it could also be a stallion. Only time will tell.
Your totally right it is a boardgame and it's not meant to compete with GW in any shape or form. It's really just of interest to those who play other games apart from 40k and like a change, like me!
I have popped some of Z-mans newsletters below for those who are interested in a bit more of the background fluff, info & minis.

I hope they keep the pre-paints also. I wouldn't be surprised if they are dropped though.
The game entered BoardGameGeeks "THE HOTNESS" list this week and has shot to number 7 out of 50 suggesting there could be a lot of interest/demand for this game. It has sort of come from now where really and I only became aware of it 10 days ago. I am hoping it will be everything Tannhauser was not, which is a great shame as Tannhauser had some great production values and minis but the system is flawed in my opinion.

Tannhauser had promise..then chocked....hopefully the medics will revive it.
Otherwise, this game looks good. Saying there's "Too many apoc games...." is like saying there's too many space marine type games. Can't have enough IMO.

If anyone here is going to Gencon & is interested in this game? The publisher has announced the info below.
TheDarkKnight wrote:
Hey Zev!
How much of the game can we expect to see at GenCon? Will there be really brief demos or more involved ones?
It depends on what assets I am sent in time for the show. I am hoping to have everything needed to do at least the first scenario - which should be enough eye candy.
But even if I get assets to more scenarios, we might just demo using the first scenario and then explain what else you get with the game.

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k
If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.
Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

Like the look of this , from the same site
Dust Tactics has been in the making for quite a while now and I also have my eye on it and await some Gencon feedback. Shame they aren't going to release pre-paint sets as standard and the deluxe sets sound pricey and hard to get hold of, still we will see what comes out in the mix.
Earth Reborn just seems to have shot out of nowhere and is a different proposition to Dust Tactics by the looks of it. ER comes across more scenario/mission/task based rather than a skirmish affair. It also looks like it has much more in depth game mechanics (hence bleeding eyes caused by cards). I like the look of both of them and DT almost seems like advanced Star Wars minis which is okay with me (they could quite easily do a SW version). ER & DT both potentially fill a different niche. If they both get the thumbs up? I will probably buy both games.

Earth Reborn actually looks a lot better on the table in boardgame format. I'll have to retract some of what I said.
Still, a lot of the stuff like stat cards are still poorly designed though, but overall the game could be fun due to the boardgame format.
Dust Tactics is a game that's interesting. It's being released in a format similar to a board game. Where you play on a grid of tiles. The dice rolls are via dice pools, where only a few of the die faces of a "success" on them. Roll more for a chance at a better result.
However, they'll be releasing free rules online to use the miniatures as a traditional tabletop miniatures game, which appeals to me more.

Vertrucio, I take it you went to Gencon and looked at the game first hand? If you have some pictures.? It would be great if you could post them on here & Boardgamegeek.
It's good news that it looks better than you thought it would. It would be great to hear any info on how the game is meant to be played if you were briefed. I also noticed from a picture on BGG that it had what looked like a mission brief with the map underneath. The map looked quite large and detailed and built for true mission format i.e. looked like a complex, is this the case? It's a shame that the publisher and designer are not getting more info out as this would be a good time to know more, especially with Dust Tactics kicking off which I love the look of, just not sure if it will offer the gameplay and this is where ER may prove better? What was it that put you off the cards? Are they just too busy or not logical?

Well reading some of the feedback on BGG it would appear that Earth Reborn missed the Gencon boat and didn't have all the stuff ready to fully launch it. The designer Chris has become very active on BGG which is always nice, even to the point he made a late amendment to the game on a forum member's suggestion. Anyway! It doesn't sound like the delay will be too long as the designer has stated it will definitely be out for Christmas.
Just on another note. Dust Tactics seems to have launched very well and they even previewed the minis from the next expansion at gencon, unheard of I think DT could well take a large chunk out of other games markets if it keeps on it's current roll. It's still early days and there isn't many reviews as of yet, but still a few which are mainly glowing, but they would be LOL.

Im kinda mixed on Dust Tactics. It looks awesome, but Im not a huge fan of the AT-43 system, which its based off of. Ill still probably pick up a copy, perhaps use it with a universal rules set like Shockforce.

Dust Tactics is quite different from AT-43. The former is more like a boardgame while the latter is a true tabletop miniature game.

Well it looks like ER will be with us within 2 weeks. Just in case anyone is interested? They have also launched their own independent forum. It's hard not to like the hype and I hope ER is a winner otherwise I will kick myself for passing up on Dust Tactics as my Christmas purchase. Something tells me ER will be the better buy though.

Any report as to what scale the miniatures are. The game looks cool, but if I can't at least incorporate the miniatures into my Wastelands (generic post apoc rules) games when I tire of the board game, then I'm not intersted.
The bigger-figure-phenomenon is what also kept me out of at43 (except for a couple walkers) and dust tactics.

I am guessing around the 30mm mark but not sure. Anyway it's shipping (not UK yet) so you could always ask on the Earth Reborn forum.

Well got the game through & I have to say I am very pleased with the contents.
There is a stack of stuff included and the minis are very nice.
Check out the Earth Reborn forum link a few posts above to see unboxing pic's etc if your interested.
I just need to digest the rules now and get a game in against a mate although I will probably do a solo run first to work it all out in advance.
While the rules can run from basic to very complex. The great thing about the missions book is it runs you through missions adding new rules along the way until you hit the complex level.
I am quite hopeful for this game and boardgamegeek would suggest it is getting a good reception from feedback & comments left.
