This is the story of Brayan, the Chapter Champion for the Imperial Crusaders. My DIY chapter if you like please comment. If you think you could make it better please comment and help me

CHAPTER 1
Brayan opened his eyes and stared at the statue before him. Standing there was a solid gold statue of Ambroas, the first chapter master of the Imperial Crusaders. The statue stood even taller than a space marine clad in terminator armor. Ambroas’s features glittered in the dull, candle-lit chapel. Brayan had spend hours studying the statue and even now as he looked upon it for the hundredth time, he was filled with joy and pride.
Brayan had spent so much time in the chapel he had memorized every crack in the marble floor. Brayan had even memorized how many times a day the serfs would light the candles. The serfs that worked as attendants in the chapel knew not to disturb any marine praying and they sat in silence in the pews behind Brayan.
“Holy emperor guide my blade as it smites your foes. Guide my bolter as it destroys your enemies. Holy emperor guide me so that I may best honor you.” Brayan said just above a whisper. He was so immersed in prayer that he did not notice the power-armored giant standing behind him. “Brayan we must go.” the giant spoke in a hushed tone. He laid his enormous hand across Brayan’s shoulder, causing Brayan to jump to his feet. “Brother Alastair, I did not see you.” Brayan admitted as he turned and faced his old friend. Brayan felt like a naked child standing beside Alastair without his own power armor. “You were deep in thought friend, and I apologize for disturbing you, but Tanguy wishes our presence.” Alastair stated. “then we shall go.” Brayan responded and started to walk out of the chapel with Alastair close behind him.
Brayan and Alastair walked swiftly through the fortress towards their chapter master’s quarters. “Did he give you any indication as to why he wants to see us?” Brayan asked as he turned a corner and continued walking. “I imagine he seeks your advice sir.” Alastair replied. This was not uncommon as Brayan was the chapter champion for the Imperial Crusaders. He led the honor guard squad known as the “lion hearts” which is where Alastair served as the chapter ancient. Brayan stopped before an enormous set of wooden doors inlaid with golden figures. The figures were hero’s of the Black Templars, the chapter the Imperial Crusaders were created from. Sigismund stood on a pile of dead orks while Rogal Dorn smote enemies of mankind with his bare fists.
As soon as the two warriors reached the doors, two marines who were hidden in the darkness stepped forward and blocked Brayan and Alastair’s path. These men were part of a second squad of honor guard tasked with guarding the chapter master’s quarters and accompanying him on non-combat deployments. These men had served with the lion hearts decades ago, but now they were considered too old and now were confined to side of the chapter master.
“Were you summoned?” one man asked, his helmet’s audio system distorted his voice slightly. “Yes.” Alastair replied. The two men nodded and slid back into the shadows and allowed the men to pass.
Brayan entered first, pushing open the doors with his enhanced strength, the two giant doors groaned as they were swung open. The smell of burning insense hit Brayan instantly, sending fumes in to his body to be filtered out by his implants. The room was almost as bare a dungeon cell, save for a table and a small bed. Several candles were lit and sitting on the table, their melted wax spilling onto the wooden table top. Sitting at a chair in the corner was a massive figure, a man that, with a nod of his head could send his entire chapter to war.
Tanguy was the chapter master of the Imperial Crusaders, years of war and chaos had made him into a man without emotion, a man with an iron will and unwavering sense of duty. He had ended entire waaaghs! With a single swipe of his power fist, he had ended rebellions with just a stare. Tanguy was the most powerful man to ever don a suit of Imperial Crusader’s power armor, and now he was sitting before Brayan and Alastair.
Tanguy was clad with in artificer armor, the ancient relics of the chapter. His armor was covered in badges and scrolls telling his great acts of courage and countless battles. As Tanguy stood, his long white hair rolled down onto his shoulder guards and swayed as he walked to his honor guard. He had lost his right eye in a battle with the dark eldar many decades ago and now it was replaced with a mechanism that allowed him to magnify his sight.
“Brother Brayan, we are going to war.” Tanguy said plainly, studying the face of his champion. ‘With who sir?” Brayan asked. “Several ork warbands have been spotted just outside this segmentum. Now, before they pose a real threat to this system I am ordering three companies to move and intercept the orks on a small world in the furthest system in the segmentum. The third company is already patrolling close to the ork incursion and I have ordered them to prepare defenses. Now I’m sending the fifth company and elements of the first to assist in the coming battles. I will not be there, but I am sending the lion hearts. You will be attached to the command squad and serve as the spearhead for any assault planned. Those are my orders. Now go and prepare, the Heroic Intervention will be leaving in three days. Dismissed.” Tanguy finished. “Yes sir.” Brayan stated and turned on his heels and exited the room with Alastair beside him.
“Well brother, excuse me. I must go and prepare for war.” Brayan said as he reached the bottom of the stairs. “Ok brother, I will see you soon.” Alastair replied. The tow men split and Brayan headed to the squad’s armory to attend to his gear.

The armory glittered with weapons that were used by the lion hearts. Each wall was covered in swords, spears, guns, among other deadly items. Sitting at a table cleaning a bolter was Nevarius, another lion heart. He had served with Brayan since they were in the scout company, where the two of them served with distinction. He was the most hot-headed one in the squad, but still when battle came he could be counted upon to stand by anyone’s side without hesitation.
Brayan paused in the doorway to the armory and watched his friend meticulously clean every mechanism in the blessed weapon. “Brother Nevarius, “I suppose you were told of our assignment.” Brayan stated as he entered the brightly lit armory. Nevarius whipped his head around and looked at the champion, “Yes brother. I’m looking forward to slaying those blasted green skins.” Nevarius replied, slapping the table to punctuate his sentence. “Calm yourself brother, the time for battle will be soon.” Brayan stated walking over to a closed locker. “Is my gear ready?” Brayan asked as he opened the locker and stared at the contents. His armor was unique, it was almost completely hidden by a tan robe that he wore over his armor in battle. The robe was covered in hand-written prayers and quotes, words that were spoken by their founder himself, Ambroas.
Brayan swelled with pride as he stared upon his wargear. The greatest warriors in the chapter before him had worn this gear when they went to battle and he was wearing it now.
“Your halberd is here,” Nevarius said as he stood from the table and walked over to another locker. He opened it and pulled out a glittering power halberd, a weapon that was very rare to see outside of the famous Grey Knights chapter. It had killed countless enemies in the name of the emperor, but it looked brand new. Brayan drew his eyes away from his armor and took the weapon from Nevarius. “You did a magnificent job brother.” Brayan told Nevarius, who usually attended to the war gear of the lion hearts. “The serfs polished it.” Nevarius stated at he sat back down at the table and began putting the bolter together. “I will bring you your bolter after I clean it brother.” Nevarius said. “Thank you Nevarius. See to it the others are taken care of.” Brayan said as he placed his halberd inside his locker with his armor. “Yes brother it will be done.” Nevarius replied without taking his eyes off the bolter. Brayan left the armory without another word and headed back to the chapel.

Imperial Crusaders: 7,500 points

“Brothers, what we do on the battlefield is not just for our chapter but, for the entire Imperium. Every Xenos that falls by our hands will be a testament to our unwavering duty to the Emperor. Every heretic that is crushed under our feet will be a testament to our undying loyalty to the citizens of Imperial Space. We will baptize ourselves in fire and emerge as the most steadfast defenders of humanity.” - qoute from my own homegrown chapter

Hello JFizzle51,

This is written in a simple and easy to read style that I find quite accessible. There is enough detail in the story to evoke a mood without it being too cluttered.

I like it I am going to favorite it and come back from time to time. I don't know much about the Templars, but the way you are writing it it's like anyone can jump in if they understand space marines even a little. If you could inset a pic or two of your models of this chapter it might be nice too

--- Keep writing!
