I mentioned in the welcome forum about my first battle, but I was SO excited about it I wanted to go into depth in the proper section of the forums. (Please excuse my lack of professional terms, im still rather new)
I had: Chaplin - 6 Terminators - Champion - Dreadnot - and 4 groups of 5 troops (2 plasma cannons/ 3 bolt guns)

I was given the option to take several small groups so I could have more heavy weapon firepower OR to have larger groups to withstand CQC better... I went for the big guns. I was going against an Orc army and felt pretty confident for my first battle, even though I looked hardcore outnumbered. That was, until he decided to deep strike with a box FULL of more orcs!! The group of 5 bikes gave me a ton of trouble by immobilizing my Dreadnot. However, it was still pointed in the correct direction to inflict mass pain with the still working guns : ). Turns out, the idea of having the several groups of heavy weapons paid off. I was able to take several turns to blast the crap out of his bikes once they came form behind their cover. Even better... the mass amount of orcs that came charging from behind a hill fell victim to a barrage of plasma and well placed bolts from several angles.
Once the orcs had entered CQC with my terminators i was told that I could not fire into combat (makes perfect sense actually). So i got to see what terminators could do. Holy crap... all I have to say is if John Conner doesnt get his crap together in the future we are in trouble! Those things were amazing! I didnt even have the claws on them either.
The battle was intense, my Chaplin did fall, but right as the final orcs began to fight, I was able to surround them with my other troop groups forcing a surrender. All out slaughter was preferable, but on this day, surrender was acceptable.
All in all, I lost two terminators, my Chaplin, and 3 figures from a bolt gun group. On my first battle, my friends told me I came out not only pretty well, but winning was amazing. They were proud to see the end result and thus, we have a new player on the block!

Congrats on your win and welcome to the game. Hosing down hordes does feel good.

Also, if you want more people to read your BatRep, perhaps break it up chronologically or at least use paragraphs. Pics are nice but not mandatory if you have good formatting.
