I've thought about doing this, and now I see that it can work thanks to these guys: http://www.cookevillebattlebarn.com/Home_Page.php

They're a couple of hours away so it's not really convenient for players in the Hendersonville/Gallatin/Goodlettsville area to make the trip. My main motivation for this place is to create an environment for young players to grow in the hobby. I want a place that's close, that's clean, and that's competitive. I started the hobby 8 years ago when I was 15, and not having a place close by was rough. I believe these small gaming barns in towns without store support can really help people get into the hobby. I wouldn't be selling product. The barn would be a glorified friend's bonus room to play the game.

This barn is still in the planning stages (though I already have the building), but I'm trying to get a feel for what kind of reaction it will get before I start putting a lot of time into it.

If there's anyone in the middle TN area who wants a game, has input, knows someone who would enjoy this, or wants a game, send me a pm.

You're going to have trouble getting that going so close to Nashville.

Currently, the biggest club in the middle TN area is based in Donaldson, which is what, 45 minutes away from you. They are my old club.

Most Thursday nights they will have 20-30 players. So they have already taken most of your player base. The people in Cookville make it over to play once and a while. They are nice folks. There is also another store, with a large gaming scene in Murfreesboro. They are probably the premier tournament running store in the area.

I'd suggest going into the Game Keep, which is where the afore mentioned club meets and talking to some of them. That would give you a better gauge on the market.

Murphesboro-sp? had a great shop, very solid customer base, and there is an absolute waisteland near Ft Campbell, IIRC there is one store up there and it SUCKs Tons of players though.

I would contact GW in this one particular instance simply because of their HQ move to Memphis.

Being a member of the Battlebarn, I am glad that we could help inspire you to create your own place. We created our place because, much like you, there was no good place to game in a good distance. I wish you the best of luck getting yours together and if there is any way we can support you we will be more than happy to.
