Hi All,

I am going to games day this year, but haven't purchased my ticket yet. I called GW today and the rep told me that they do not sell out in the USA. Anyone that has been there is the past is this the case?

What's stopping you getting it in advance, you know....just to be sure?

It's true, they don't sell out and you can buy your ticket at the convention center. Hope to see you there, check us out in the club section. IFL Rapid Fire Tournament.

Different this year Don. They may limit the number of tickets (still in the thousands though, doubt that will be a problem. But they are not selling them at the door, you need to get an advance tickt.

If you go to the GW website and look at the GD info, it has the information under the link saying "tickets will be limited and not available at the door."

Seems odd to not have tickets available, but I've asked several times about it for customers, and been told the same thing each time.

Wow, that's a huge change. Betcha they get more than a few people asking for tickets at the door.

Yep, I'm thinking there will be a few unhappy people. A change that big needs to be very well advertised, and repeated often. I've been hammering people in my shop that mention going to GD to get their tickets. I'm betting a few forget and drive down anyway.

So I called gw today, and bought my tickets I will get a email confirmation. So if I don't get the tickets I can just print that and bring it the gut said. I'm pretty excited and look forward to meeting dakka people!

I ordered 3 tickets Thursday of last week and got them in two days time.

I agree Mike, GW should have pressed it really hard that there are no ticket sales at the door this year.

Since this is the only Games Day in the USA this year I'm betting it's the reason why. With people coming from all across the nation they probably have to estimate an increased attendance. Regardless, I still think attendance will be down, I can only hope GW did their research on how many sales happen at the door vs. the combination of average online ticket sales and projected sales for the single event.
