Hello, when I view a post, other user's avatars and signatures are not shown for some reason, and I have not disabled these via my profile settings.

Can you please help me?

Many thanks,

Omega.

Use the switch theme button. You probably somehow got switched to the mobile theme which disables them. Switch back to classic to re-enable them.

the print version is quite shiny and nice.. doesn't feel like dakka though. what is different about the SFW version? does it disable pics/attachements?

SFW is just more worksafe colours so it doesnt look like a dodgy gaming website from halfway across the office.

and either of you who had it switched to mobile, what web browser are you using on your PC? Just want to sort it out in case it is automatically giving the wrong skin to PCs. How big are your browsing windows as well? If the first time you load dakka you are using a tall but narrow window, it will switch into mobile mode.

Windows Vista, IE 8. the changeover happened over the weekend in case you rolled out any updates then (i noticed the bigger buttons at that time but not the loss of avatars until last night). as for the opening window, i surf maximized but it opens in about widescreen TV aspect ratio 16:9ish at half the height of the screen.

as for the SFW version, you may want to disable avatars, especially around christmas time. all those half naked women in red fur bikinis may be nice but a bit embarassing at work.

avatars can be disabled on a case by case basis in your user profile, it is only mobile that needs it disabled by default for speed reasons.
