Thought these were worth posting. Just picked up a box of the new Highlanders and they are great models the pictures on the site dont do them justice IMHO, they dont even show the full range for some reason. There full of character with lots of nice detail and poses, going to be fun times painting all that plaid
http://shop.warlordgames.co.uk/highland-clansmen-4407-p.asp
There are also some character models coming out soon including the 7ft tall nutter "the Devastator" Mac Colla
and this Highland Hero
Warlord have been turning out some rather nice metal Pike & Shotte figures recently, the Montrose Irish released not so long ago were top notch as well.

Their painting isn't doing them any favours, but they look like they're probably pretty good.

mm agreed, if you are going to put out models no matter what you should shoot for the extra cash to get a demon winner or somone amazing to paint them. You want the models to show something people can aspire to not... drab. I for one love their products but that just is not so hot.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Hell, you don't even need a Golden Daemon winner. Pitch me a kit to keep, and I will paint it up for you! Even a goon like me is a better painter than Dale Yates, if those heroes are any indication :( (Though I will say the clansman block looks pretty nice, save for the mooner.)

I suspect the problem with the closeups is more to do with the lighting, theres just to much light bouncing back of off them. Looks like the same effect you when you take pictures of minis and leave the flash on, total optical annihilation
They are some cracking minis in the flesh though, well worth a look if your after some hairy men in skirts wielding pointy things.
